was reading on another bike site, the moderator asked if rossi would move again and he said rossi on a green bike with michelins, any 1 think rossi will have anther test on a different bike, i think no with the new 800 cc bikes cumin in,
if the duke could turn id love to c him on that..

It all depends on if he leaves for Formula 1 in 2007. If he stays I think there will be heavy discussion for him to go to Ducati on Michelins. He said in the midst of Silly Season 2003 that he wanted to go to Ducati but he felt it was too underdeveloped yet. I think they have grown some and Rossi and grown a lot. If he stays in MotoGP and can convince Ducati to go back to Michelins he will be there.

Id say set himself a bigger target, in riding and deveolping the Duke Just like Schumi did with the Ferrari in F1..

Even if someone else won the Championship that year he has a good excuse.

He would be mad to goto F1 as I think in the next couple of years that will be a dead duck.

Rally may be another option

Do you think he could go a year without winning the title? Even on the Ducati. A little off topic here, is everyone abandoning F1 for the GPWC? If so, why? I'm still holding on to hope that the rule changes in 2008 will save it. I really would like to see Rossi race F1, I think it would be a sight to see.

Rossi is NOT going to F1.

He has a 90% chance of staying with Yamaha next year, but he's said that from now on, he will only sign 1 year contracts, so maybe he could swap elsewhere in 2007.

Where?

Ducati? I don't think so, as long as they stay with Bridgestone.

Honda? You never know, but that doesn't look likely. The relationship with HRC is non-existent.

Kawasaki? Same problem as Ducati.

Suzuki? They suck big time.

I think if Rossi is going anywhere it would be to Ducati. He is just out to prove himself to be the greatest ever. My prediction is that he will go to Ducati for a season or two then move on to the WRC (world rally championship).

Where ever he goes its important that Gerry Burgess goes with him as they have an engineer/rider team that is hard to surpass.Still would like to see him at Ducati developing and winning within two years as was said.

I really don't see him closing out his career with Yamaha. I believe in my heart he will finish his two wheel career with Ducati on Michelins. Any rider would love to ride for a manufacturer from their home country and I don't see why Rossi would be any different. Rossi said that within the next five years he will be out of motorcycles and into cars. He had said he wasn't sure as to whether he would go to F1 or WRC in an interview that took place in Estoril. But then after the F1 USGP disaster he said he didn't think too highly of Formula 1's disregard for safety in that instance and it made him think less about moving to that series.

Either way after 2006 each year in MotoGP could potentially be his last.

Rossi has spent to long on two wheel's to be any sort of hit on 4wheel's,i think he will see his time out on two wheel's,then retire with a bank full of money !

I really disagree.. Racing is in Rossi's blood. When he is done with Bikes he will definitely give auto racing a shot. He really wanted to do F1 but after his test it seems that he changed his mind. He mentioned in an interview that he really liked and wanted to go into Rally. He wasn't too bad in either F1 or rally tests in my opinion.

Yes Rossi has had many goes in rally cars and the Ferrari F1 car(he was only 3seconds off schumacers best time!! thats pretty fast for someone whos never driven something like that!!??). To the best of my knowledge ive never heard of him seriously thinking of going to F1, i may be wrong but what i have heard from the horses mouth is that he loves rallying. As someone just said, i cant see rossi just quiting racing alltogether but as far as bikes are concerned who knows, personnaly i would love to see the doctor on the red bikes, pure italian passion, they would love him but only if he had Burgess with him. Whats this about Rossi only wanting to ride Michelins? is that because hes spent so long on those tires?

Rossi doesn't want to be on a bike that has no chance to win, and a bike on Bridgestones is not going to win (not this year). That's why Rossi doesn't want to go to a Bstone team.

2nd there no chance of Rossi going to F1, none at all.

He has considered WRC, he has participated in a few rallies with less than acceptable results. He participated in the British round of the WRC with a Peugeot 206 (champion car that year) and crashed out in the first stage of the first leg.

So he maybe turns to rallying as a hobby when he is retired but he will stay in MotoGP for until the enc of his career.

I think Rossi will have a crack at some form of car racing competivley in his career.........just to see how he fairs up on 4 wheels. I cant see why he would be testing WRC & F1 cars...........surley it wouldnt be just for fun would it? Or just to get some media attention? I cant recall any of the F1 guys riding a GP bike (correct me if I'm wrong!) & I know Colin & Alister Macrae still race bikes........so was it for real or just media stunts?

<div align="right<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

I'm not convinced there Teo! Money talks.........if an F1 team had Rossi as a main driver, they would get so much media attention.............and this would make the sponsors very happy. I remember when Montoya came to F1, thats all we heard about for the first half of the season.....till everyone realised he was crap!
<
<
..........sorry, he's crap 80% of the time, on his day he is superb..........bit like Biaggi syndrome really.

I dont think we can completley rule out that motoGP will loose Rossi before his career is over..........it would sure be intereting to see what he can do out side of the GP arena!

Ben.

Well how about him tackleing WSB or AMA SB in his twilight years..that would be interesting.

Or he could give DTM or World Touring cars a shot.

But my vote goes with him to the Dukes that would be good for the sport.

as a big fan of rossi u aim to get into his head and if i was him id never jack in completely so after gp hes defo going into sum sort of racing, in most of his interviews he says it was great fun so theres ur anwser hes having so much fun so why jack in , only injury will stop him
<
also why change to bridgstones that sruggle to fininsh races
<

What I find amazing is that he is still so young and has accomplished so much already. Imagine being younger than 30 and being at the top of your field and deciding when to retire.

To my knowledge Rossi won't leave Michelin (in the twoo wheeled arena anyway) even if the Bridgestones develop because he has developed a relationship and understanding with te manufacturer in the same way Colin Edwards has. Edwards was offered a Honda MotoGP ride in 2003 but turned it down to race for Aprilia. The ride was Makoto Tamada's Bridgestone shod Pramac effort. That is the kind of loyalty Edwards has with Michelin and from what I understand Rossi is no different.

Teo I recall him wrecking his 206 and when he would finish his results weren't very impressive. That's why when I had heard all the talk of him going to 4 wheels I was a bit confused but the talk remains if it hasn't escalated. I have a hard time believing he won't race cars at some point before his career is over.

I would love to see him on the Ducati before his time is up, Michelin shod of course. Even not being Italian it would be something special to watch one of the greatest Italian riders of all time to ride one of the greatest Italian legacies of all time.

I've heard a few times that he has a dream to win a world championship on an italian motorcycle but that the marlboro sponsorship was holding him back from ducati interest (at least a couple years ago before yamaha) I don't know how true this is, but it has come up more than once. He was said to be strongly against riding a bike with a tobacco company for a sponsor. What does that tell you? a big dollar contract overrides your personal beliefs, considering the big gauloises on the bike hes on now lol

I'd actually LOVE to see him go to Ducati and contest the title.

I had heard the same thing about him not riding for teams with tobacco sponsorship but thought it was nothing more than a rumor to get at Biaggi once he signed for Gauloises Yamaha.
