Whos the most over rated rider in motoGP?

Rossi?- hes not overated at all. hes just briliant.

Gibbernau?- I dont think you can say overated because imo hes never been rated highly apart from last year when he deserved it because he beat everyone apart from rossi. i do think it is the end for him being rossis main adversary though.

I think it prob has to be Barros last year when he was given aHRC RCV off the back of his wins in 2002.

Good point Ron, there were many other riders more deserving of the Repsol ride other than Barros.

Hayden is with out doubt the most over rated. 3 years top machinery 1 win oh please.

Don't see how you can say Sete, he's the only guy who can consistantly foot it with Rossi, He's had a shocker this year, but way ahead of Hayden and co

I'd say really Pedrosa is the most overated really talking with some people on this board you would think he has the the title all ready, and he hasn't even started a motogp race yet.

I have to say I'm in the Rossi is god camp. I could spend hours boring you with why. But I won't.

Ooost yes their was an improvement at the end of the year, he may and I say may have finally got there. But still those performances left a lot to be desired. Really when you look at it 3 years on the top Honda bike and only 1 podium and a couple of podiums really is that earth shattering success. Me thinks not, especially when an new guy new to GP gomes and goes quicker at a test session ya have to ask ya self.

OK, ive been off the piss for going on....10 hours now so I'll try to give a decent opinion.
I think it depends on where you are, who the most overrated rider is. Like here, all you hear about in local stuff is Rossi, Stoner, Rossi, Rossi, Rossi, Stoner, Vermulen, Stoner, Gardiner, Stoner, Stoner, Rossi. And Doohan of course, but he's like a household name now.
Now Stoner's good, but not as good as he's hyped up to be. But I bet in, for example the states, he's not overrated, because you probably dont hear about him that much. And it works both ways, At Phillip Island this season, Hopper was simply "The guy who bet Vermulen" That's literally all you hear about him on TV. Hayden got more attention, be he qualified on pole and ended up on the podium.
Now Rossi would get hyped up wherever he goes, (except maybe spain) but that's somewhat warranted. Seeing we got people from all over the world on this forum who get their GP info from so many different opinionated sources, it'd be hard to say who is actually the most overrated, but being an Aussie, I can say in Australia, the most overrated (Based on media hype) in my opinion is Stoner. That won't be true all over the world, but it's true here.
