I got a soft spot for drag racing. I mean, it lacks the essential "Fun" of corners, but the engineering really appeals to me. With restrictions that are a lot more loose than road racing, drag racers can build ulitmate high horsepower engines by almost any means at their disposal. And that's exactly what they do.

He who has the most money wins. Racing in a strait line or a circle proves it!
I don't mean to knock this if it "rocks your wold", I've known mega rich people that start road racing, get sick of getting bet than get into drag. They do way better, get a big head, and talk ..... Any word of road racing shuts them up!

A lot of pro Superbike racers drag race over here to practice thier starts. It ain't as easy as just dumping the clucth and gassing it. I agree it is more bike and less rider than roadracing, but it's not like an expensive, fast bike will garuntee you a win. Besides, I don't admire drag racing because of the skill, I admire it because of the power and acceleration of the bikes, and the technology they employ to get to those speeds. Sure, not much of a spectator sport like circuit racing, but as an engineering student, I love the technical aspect of drag racing.

yeah.its the engineering i love the most, i believe someone tryed to break this record and died, he suffered G-lock like fighter piliots do.
