what do you feel When Motogp without Rossi

The racing in MotoGP hasn't been good for years! It's no more or less boring without Rossi. He's one guy on the grid. He's not the entire sport for many of us. It makes no difference to me if he lines up or not. I wish him the best and for him to make a speedy return but no more than I would if any other of our sport's riders were hurt and struggling with a serious injury. If the prospect of Rossi not winning every weekend makes some folks lose interest in GP, they should migrate to professional wrestling where the results are predetermined and the action is just for show...........

What? Professional wresting is not predetermined??? It is real. Why would you make something up like that??

On Rossi's absence. Everyone has a big one at some time in their career. He was lucky that it hasn't happened earlier.

Interestingly enough, I found myself willing Jorge, Spies and Nicky Hayden on during the race. Not Melandri, he's off the Christmas card list (I'm sure he does care).

In the end I was happy that Pedrobot won as it will make the championship a bit more interesting if someone other than just Jorge is strong.

i feel empty, and want to be held...

I find myself pulling more for Hayden, Spies and Edwards......to take some of those wins that I wanted Rossi it collect on his way to the all time record.

I hope he does come back soon and just as strong.

I think DORNA peed their pants when they saw him injured. But to me personally, there are other great riders to watch and it will be interesting to see how they gun it for the championship without VR there.

Sure true fans miss Rossi but let's not pretend the racing has been great and suddenly it sucks without him. Although ever year there is an interesting points race we rarely are treated with great individual racing among the aliens.

motogp without Mr. Rossi will be a much better place especially if it will be like ‘moto2’ what wonderful racing we are seeing & experiencing on ‘moto2’ (I must add that we have never ever seen this sort of racing on the ‘500’s’ or ‘motogp’ ever, this is how it should be in ‘motogp’ none of these monopolies of factory bikes or certain advantages that these consortiums hold…it should be ‘A;; EQUAL’ and it should be up to the riders to make it happen…what do u all think???

i think its more interesting now. maybe not in terms of the championship since Lorenzo has that points cushion but Rossi being out means one less person taking up a spot near the front of the grid and/or a podium spot. that means we have a better chance of seeing Hayden, DePuniet, Spies, Edwards, Melandri, etc. on the podium. plus, it means at least one new person showing up on the grid, even if it is some boring Japanese test rider.

I beg to differ (after all I'm a Rossi fan

) but honestly; without rossi we've lost one top rider. The ones you point at are not top riders, they are second tier. I can't see what is so much more interesting if they move up one spot. It doesn't matter if they end up 3rd, 4th or 5th depending on the form of the top riders as long as they cross the line some 20 - 30 sec after the lead. The loss of Rossi is the loss of the most consistent podium fighter and we have way to few of those already, especially now that Casey is off the pace. The fight for 4th or 3rd will be just as spectacular (or not) with or without him.

Well Scotty what I think is: WTF does Rossi's injury have to do with MotoGP becoming like Moto2? Where is the grid size (does losing one rider make the grid seem LARGER to you?). Where is the one engine supplier rule to bring the pack together? Just not sure how your comment makes sense...

all races have good battles wether it's for 1st or 5th

i suspect without rossi - most of them will be for 5th

Hold on, we've just lost 50% of the chance for another Laguna or Catalunya, & some people think it is better?

Just a little bit irrational.

You really think that there can't be an exciting race without Rossi? That is irrational

It's not the same for us Rossi fans, but lief goes on.

and when he leaves forever i,m sure more than half of his fans will remain following Motogp as a fan for another rider or just the sport.

Try actually reading you ...., that's not what I said.

How did you even remotely get that from what I said?

i disagree. Spies was as fast as Rossi in Qatar and Melandri was as fast as Stoner in Mugello and DePuniet was much faster than both at certain times during the race. maybe they aren't consistently as fast as the top riders but they can be just as fast, if not faster, at certain races. so they won't be "20 - 30 secs" behind the leader always.

Just going by the thread title, should I even read through this thread? Jesus H Christ. Please tell me there is a voice of reason somewhere in it.

All i know is i was following GP long before VR, and long before the internet and long before it ever got on TV. I used to wait for a month to get news on what was happening in GP from magazines. When Rossi leaves, it will not affect my status one bit, just one of the greats i have been lucky enough to witness in my life

The main difference with Rossi out, is that it will be now easier to make 3rd rather than 4th, or 4th instead of 5th, etc. This will give a lot of additional motivation to at least 5-6 fast riders and it was already visible at Mugello.

But of course, a Rossi-Lorenzo or Rossi-Stoner scrap is something special we were all looking forward to. That is not going to happen now, at least for some time.
