richo,. does Wayne G attend a race school at Phillip Island ?

I have been looking for some info on this but can't find the excat one I used to have,. I can find a few race schools there alright but If I remember right they used to do one where you had your own crew, including camera crew, grid girl, and setup guy

It's called ICR racing academy. I think it's a division of the Australian Superbike school. It's supposed to give you the feel of being a world racing star, like a nice hotel, grid girls, photo shoots, a ride in a helicotper, technical assistance, all that stuff. It's all inclusive, like accomodation, meals, transport to the track itself. They even operate a fleet of shiny new CBR600RRs. Wayne Gardiner's been there before, but he's not always there. The deal witrh that is they hire world championship riders like Gardiner to come and act as instructors, just so it adds to the feeling. You're sharing the track with racing legends. Guys like Darryl Beattie go there, and I think Pitt and Muggas go there a few times a year. Needless to say, it dosen't come cheap. I'm not sure on the exact figures but I know it's bloody expensive.

nice one richo,. I'll do a search on ICR, but yeah that's the one you describe alright. I remember it being dear alright but sure, as u say, it's let s you feel good with all that setup palava,. then u can lie to the kids and tell em it was clips from World Super's
<

don't know how I'll talk my way round the grid girls to the woamn though
<

Bad news Topcat. I couldn't find the mag that ICR was in so I sent an email to the editor. He got back to me in a few minutes

Apparently, ICR went bust a while ago. Not surprising really, Business wouldn't have been good. We don't got many millionares in Australia.

Now what am I supposed to do when I win the lottery
<

You're team's decent, topcat. But mine's better
<

I'll respect BMW motorrad when they race against someone other than themselves. Geez, even a FP1 could a Petronas cup.
<

Theres a few rumors of a BMW motoGP bike in early stages of development being thrown around Bavarian racetracks. IF they enter motoGP or create a decent superbike, My opinion on them will change completely. That is, if they're competitive.

<
This is gonna get outta control soon, how about we limit trash talking and Fantasy GP discussion to the Fantasy gp thread? Or else soon we wont be talking about nothing else

t'was only winding u up as I was pissed at the race acedemey being packed in,...

no as I said before, different tools different jobs,. no one can say this bike or that bike is the best in the world as you know we all need different tools,. but if we are both going to do i.e. MotoGP's then the YeHarrmaha M1 is the best at that disipline,. etc etc u know the craic

I seen in our local MCN a week ago that BMW have been testing extesively, a three cylinder yoke with all sorts of gadgets on it,. Tracktion-control, Elec-Suspension blah blah, which folk think is there attempt to get a yoke ready for the 800cc spec class,...

I hate the idea of the 800cc class,. I don't see the reason for it,. some how detracts from MotoGP 1000cc fours,. no'wha'a'meen?

We've discussed it before and I think we agreed that an 800cc rule was a stupid way to try and make the sport safer. The factories will want to make the 800s as powerful as the 990s, and they will in a few years. Combine that with a smaller fuel tank and they'll have more peaky engines, which are less freindly and therefore more dangerous. And as for lighter weight making them safer, well with the new rules the only way any manufacturer will have a lighter bike is if they have two or three cylinders 4 cylinder bikes still have to be 148 kg, 5 cylinders I think are going up to 155 and god knows how heavy the 6 cylinders will be.

The 800cc rule is not making them any safer, that's just an excuse. Honda just wants to technologically knock down their rivals, Ducati is the one that has a tougher job.
I really don't understand why Kawasaki and Suzuki agreed.
<

For the same reason they both turned down Biaggi, They're Honda's little .......
<

Or maybe it's because they'll still be able to afford it, maybe not win but they might be hoping to knock out Ducati so one of them can take their spot as a frontrunning bike.

The fact of the matter is that the sanctioning body wanted to make the sport safer, a displacement reduction was suggested (presumably by Honda) and it was approved. What was ignored was track safety, going slightly slower down the straights will not compensate for the increased corner speeds on already questionable run off areas.
