right chris has started his gp career with a 11th so how did u rate him, well for me he didnt fall off so theres a plus and he did have a little dice with the hopper,
but how many bikes was on the grid? roberts out, little loris out and barros fell from 7th so wot can we say? this is not meant to slag the man off im just seeing wot u think...

I said I would be very impressed if Chris finished in the top 15..................so I'm very impressed!!

I think it was an extremley good race for him, considering he'd not been on a GP bike prior to this weekend.

Turkey will be very interesting.....brand new track and all that, if he gets top 10 I think that will be superb.

I don't rate him (yet)

Winner I know ya a fan so is Vilandra

But I have to say after reading what he had to say on crash net I thought it was a poor show

read this http://www.crash.net/uk/en/news_view.asp?cid=6&nid=120891

Sure he's got a lot to learn but really he's on a very good bike!!! he's had lots of race experiance, he's WSBK champ this year, he should have had enough nouse not to get done on the last lap by Hopper. Even Vermeulin said it was average

I havn't seen enough of him fighting in a bunch, or fighting for the lead, most I've seen of him his running away from everyone or working his way though a bunch to ride on his own, need to see his fighting skills before I'll rate him. Bit like Pedrosa don't see him fight much.

Biggest fighters I've seen are Rossi and Haga

was doohan a great fighter, mainly out in front and bye bye,, if chris settles down and when infront ive heard hes hard to pass but we will c,, oh on the haga thing
in my book he just a nutter who did nothing in gp.. dangerous..

winner thats why I rate Rossi ahead of Doohan, because Rossi would be able to match Doohan's pace and IMHO be able to out fight him.

Yup the Haga thing, you bought it up so I'll blast ya. Haga didn't do anything in GP because of the bike he was on, and I'd like to see you try and argue that it wasn't.

You call him a nutter, but just take a look at what your hero said the other day about Haga (in Germany) he followed very close but he never touch me it was very clean (don't you get the after race interviews) over the years several other rider's have said similar things I remember Slight & Edwards saying similar things. As Ooost said its lucky he hasn't injured himself real bad by now, but luck has got nothing to do with it, its skill and he just happens to be one of the best at following closely to someone. Ya tell the ones who don't like it. How many years has Haga been riding like that, if it was dangeroues who has he injured in that time, come on name someone he has injured, I think you been a bit of a flounce dangerous my ....

IMHO Haga would be one of the few who could stick it to Rossi on a decent GP bike

I hope Vermeulen stays in SBK cause I reckon he'll get shown up next year (wanna bet on it)

OT: But that article also said <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE <div class='quotemain'>GP veteran Hopkins What!!!!!!! What constitutes being a verteran these days?

I think the Verm gave a good account of himself and turkey will maybe have him up another place or two.But if he qualifies nearer the front the confidence boost may see him top 5 at a long stretch,of course taking into consideration riders who are not able to partake thru injury.

marbs i take onboard all u say, in wsb then id say haga is ok but im not a fan of him in moto gp, ive heard or read lots about haga being dangerous, if hes that good then its a pity he aint gunna have anythink like winning titles to shout about,
i think even in wsb a few years bak might have been hodgson saying he dangerous.. can anybody remember, anyway only my own view,,

I was very impressed with Chris. I didn't think he would crack the to 15 either.

I also definitely consider Rossi being a better rider than Doohan.
I really would love to see how Rossi would have done against Rainey, Schwantz and Doohan back in the day...

Roberts would have finished behind him anyways. If Hopper had a good dice with him and Hopper is better than KrJr then we can safely assume Roberts would have been nehind the two.

Sucks that Loris was out he would definitly have made a good fight for a top 5 finish.

Max and Barros were in the race but they fell out so you can't count that against CV. He kept his cool and finished the race in the points just like he wanted to. Maybe it was easier to get points this race because of the number of riders on the grid. But he didn't finish 15th to get the last point, he finished 11th, after fighting for more points. Much can be said for the Aussie. Lots of new things for him, tires, bikes, team, and then of course the caliber of the competition.

Give him a few more tracks and some test sessions and we will see what he is made of in 2007 after he finishes wrapping up the title in WSBK.........

cheers winner mate your cool, just have to make ya fight for ya rider.

Yup I sure can't shout about Nori's titles

I was impressed with Chris V. I felt his assessment of the weekend was right on, he knew what his flaws were and he is going to try to work on them for Turkey. I don't think a top 10 is out of the question but I think his results will be just below those that he achieved in PI. I pick him to come home in 13th.

No way am I getting involved in the Haga vs. Vermeulen vs. MotoGP debate again.

vermullen...more hype than ability me thinks. but we'll see. let's see if he can win wsbk title next season 1st. whats all this haga is dangerous ....! lets review some other dangerous riders before knockin haga. loris capirossi... human bowling ball at motegi last season. john hopkins human bowling ball season before motegi again. valentino rossi's classic manouvers on gibbs in jerez & melandri in ( where else) motegi. just a few examples of " dangerous riders". gimme a friggin break. any of you who think haga is dangerous as opposed to being just a hard charging, determined racer need to get ur heads out of ur .....! o yeh & i can't think of 1 time haga has wiped anyone but himself out in a race! can u???

Shakey took 14th then 13th on the honda, with previous GP experience. Verm took 11th, his first weekend on a gp bike. I think that tells you alot. we'll see what happens. top ten is in order for turkey
<

Hey general don't forget Max Loris Kenny wern't there and Alex went down so you can add a few places to 11th if you wanna compare it to Shakey, he did no better

Good post there Frosty
