Valentino Rossi TT visit postponed until Monday
Published Date: 05 June 2009
BIKE racing legend Valentino Rossi will now visit the Island on Monday, Isle of Man TT organisers have announced.
A poor weather forecast means the reigning MotoGP champion has had to postpone tomorrow (Saturday's) visit.
An official statement, issued by the TT press office, said Rossi will complete his planned lap of the course on Monday instead.
The six-times MotoGP champion's appearance has been organised by Dainese, who make Rossi's leathers and protective gear.
Vittorio Cafaggi, Dainese communications director, said: 'Valentino is very much looking forward to visiting the Isle of Man and is keen to experience the races which is why we have rescheduled his trip to make sure that he is able to enjoy a lap of the course and be certain of a full day's racing.'
Organisers say a final decision with regard to tomorrow's racing will be made later this evening (Friday).
Tourism Minister Martyn Quayle said: 'We are very grateful to Valentino for being flexible with his visit to the Isle of Man and look forward to welcoming him this Monday.'
