Well so much for the Bibs are .... and the Hondas will have the biggest issues, Marky was faster than the race record using 2016 lectricks...

Zooks look like they are happy enough, although they were still using their proprietary electrics...

Baz looks happy on the Duc and faster than Redding and Miller AND all other Ducs save Joe and Petrux! Who said WSBK ain't a good training ground for MGP?

Jorge's quote made me larf!

"Especially the anti-wheelie is quite inconsistent sometimes," Lorenzo said. "I would like to have more anti-wheelie. And it doesn't give you the same support as the old version, it's quite free, it slides more, it's more inconsistent, the bike is moving more. In these three areas I would like to improve."

Doesn't sound like his cuppa...

Moto2: Sam Lowes and Danny Kent were in top 5. Lowes guaranteed a seat in 2017 MotoGP with Aprilia.

How much advancement do you see in the Aprilias and Suzukis next year? Either make a podium?

Ever since riders started to complain about the step backwards resulting from the new ECU - been wondering if the trend might be towards riders using less electronics, but reality is factories will just throw more money at learning how to fine tune them. How long has it been now that factories have actually had the new ECUs for unlimited hands on experimenting?

The Aprilia has a long way to go. I don't see them in the top 8 for a while. The Suzuki should be top 6. But let's face it, the top 4 will remain the same. They have clamped down on open class concessions, so Ducati won't get that jump they enjoyed at the start of 15 season. And Iannone has forgone getting his wing repaired, which for the short term may be ok, but shoulder & wrist injuries end careers. So I hope this will work out. Other than Viñalez, Iannone is the only other talent I see with the political clout to challenge for a factory RCV/M1. And as u know, I believe GP is ALL about politics. Smith will probably get passed over for Pol (again). Politics. Its naive to believe Rossi is the 4th fastest guy out there when there are 4 win worthy machines. I'm not convinced Pedrosa is some alien either, despite his resurgence in the last 4 races. I don't see him fairing any better on a Suzuki than Viñalez, certainly not faster than Iannone on a Ducati. Its a condition we fall for when assessing these riders on the top machines. Put VR or Pedrosa in your imagination along side Iannone at Ducati or Suzuki, do either beat the teammates? I for one totally doubt it. (More than u asked, but that's what I think.) Aprilia lost its greatest mind when Gigi left for Ducati. That is their shortcoming. I don't see them making much strides forward against the likes of the 3 Japanese factories or Ducati Corse.

"At Valencia last week Michelin more or less matched Bridgestone’s lap times, albeit at the cost of a pile of trashed carbon-fibre and scuffed leathers.

Making exact comparisons between lap times with the French tyres and the Japanese tyres is fruitless, because most riders were also testing Dorna’s compulsory software.

In brief, Marc Marquez was the fastest man on Michelins, four tenths quicker than his best race lap, but half a second off his qualifying best. Maverick Vinales was the best improver: second fastest in the tests, 1.6 seconds better than in the race and two tenths quicker than in qualifying. Yamaha riders Jorge Lorenzo and Valentino Rossi struggled most, both slower than their race pace.
