From Cycle News-
TONI ELIAS (crashed): "I knew I'd broken my leg straight away. I tried to put it back in position even though the pain was tremendous. Hopefully I can recover quickly and be back on track soon. I also want to thank all the Clinica Mobile staff for their help and support."

It started off as a regular slide until he hit the gravel and his leg got caught in it awkwardly. He would have walked away otherwise, instead there's talks of him being out for 7-11 months. Where does that leave us with the fantasy league?

just seen the crash on Eurosport

nasty or what

Awful news, never good to see a rider get injured, especially if it is pretty serious like this.

quite ironic there should be quite a serious incident after only 2 riders turned up to the safety council meeting.

I feel bad for him but happy that I dropped him as a rider just the other day.

Crap almighty. Just watched it. Dr Costa says 7 months in plaster, 11 months in all out. That means he won't even make it for the next season. What a bummer. Seems the fracture is lengthwise and a piece of bone came off completely.

Poor Toni.

Out until the last 3 rounds.

Bye bye Elias, no-one should sign you at the rate you bash yourself up.

Gaz, thats really unnecessary, a guy just broke his leg and you have to have a dig at him?

If he is out for 11 months, thats the end of his career. He'll be replaced until the end of this season, and then he'll be out for the first five races of next season, meaning Gresini will have to replace him. That said, usually these estimates are a little wild, so maybe he'll be back by the end of the season or by the start of next season. I can only hope so.

Either way, get well soon Toni!

Julian Ryder said on Eurosport today 3 months, which makes much more sense to me. Broken legs never take 11 months, unless its broken in more than one place and somewhere that its difficult to set.

well i heard a piece of bone had come away ,if thats the case it will need pinning so could take a very long time, at least he is in good hands with Dr costa and crew, i hope his career is not finished because of this.

It was so nice to see Rossi make an effort to wish Toni the best after their recent history, well done Valentino
