Happened at Honda Hairpin (turn 4) where MM shoved the bike up the inside (I do not thing that DP 'allowed' it but irrespective, it was one spot)

Probably all depends on interpretation etc.

If he was told to drop a position, thence that is whilst on track and is irrespective of the end finish position. Essentially the same rule applies (generally speaking) for an overtake under yellow flag conditions where the person who made the overtake is given an 'on track' opportunity to redress by dropping the spot/s gained

What I find interesting is that 3 riders get DQ'd for a tyre offence and yet a speed in pit lane is a position drop and not some form of ride through or time penalty?

Just find it confusing

Oh, and this weekend may have killed the 'favour MM' talk for a while

I hope it does end all that foolishness. I really thought we were going to get a last lap battle the way MM was gaining on Jlo.

The black flags were given because it was decided before the race that if you didn't pit you would be disqualified. The rules were clear and Marquez, Staring and Cudlin managed to screw it up.

Lorenzo didn't seem bothered by the T1 incident, says he ran very wide and Marquez wasn't looking so they came together.

I thought Pedrosa's penalty was for crossing the pitlane entryor exit white line, not for speeding. I'm sure that's what I saw on the screen? Either way he served it by getting passed by Marquez.

This must be a first ever in a powerslide race thread. Everybody agrees ,this race was a total .... up haha

Rog, funny you say that but yep, for sure

ACtually a comment I just read on another forum is apt (partially quoted as there was reference to tragedies) 'this may well be the darkest day that MotoGP has ever experienced, let us hope it gets no worse'

Was it said disqualification though as all commentators were confused and none made mention or was it (as I suspect) a sudden hash together of a penalty that race direction deemed suitable as they did not expect to have to apply any penalty?

I bet Stoner is laughing his ... off.

sure he has no regrets now for Leaving this circus.

seriously ? what a joke!

as for MM's passing his pit window, I think it had to do with having a moment in the previous turn leading to the pit entry. managed to stay on his bike and then the pit entry was too late.. things can go by quickly at 330kmh. even Dani said he couldnt really remember much of the race, things were going by so fast and so many things going on.

.

Before throwing all the blame on MM for the contact exiting the pit lane, check out Lorenzo's position: he went very wide and so touched Marquez who was still clear of the racing line.

It is a 50-50 circumstance -- and I think there is kind of a magnetism between these two now, when they see each other they get into confrontation mood immediately and nobody wants to leave room to the other...

Looked to me like he picked his bike up and went wide intentionally, he wasn't doing that in the previous laps. MM was looking, they were both lucky.

That's the same way I saw it, neither wants to yield.

I thought JLo gave him a little tap on purpose...

Almost 2 hours after the race and the Dorna press denizens have yet to post a write-up/recap! Twats are having a hard time spinning this ....!

Tend to agree J4, to me 50/50 but 100% at the sheer stupidity of the forced pit trip and change

Interesting aside is that the old pit land exited elsewhere and likely would not have had the issue as they could get up to speed faster (the turn at the end of the new one is a slower speed turn)

But all aside, I will actually give MM a pat on teh back for actually leaving the track as soon as he saw the black flag (shown at T1) and not trying to keep racing and stuffing another's race. Int he past we have seen some who ignore the flag so (IMO only), it was good to see a rider acknowledge and perform exactly that which is required

they both need to be blamed. they both try to scare / intimidate each other

For sure Marc knew he was going to close the line a little bit, while still never having the intention of cutting it completely and Lorenzo must have intentionally ran wide in order to tell Marc that he was there. they have been at it for the last couple races now

I dont blame mm or j-lo for that. The blame squarely sits with race direction imo. By making them stick to the pit lane speed limit right up to the white line at the end of the pit it forced bike exiting pit lane to re-join and a dangerously slow speed.

Yes. The pit stop was a dicey fix to a problem that should never have

occurred in the first place.

Imitating F1 is not good for MotoGP.

Didn't he have a broken brake lever after the T1 incident
