Rossi's ego was never gonna have him stay, and i think given their success over such a long time span they understandably have confidence in the structure and attitudes they use.

Management of both the resources and the personel (including riders) is fundamental, look at Toyota in F1 for a very obvious example of that.

Probably more of the countless wins and World Championships that they have accumulated.

Hmm but before they had "the bike to be on " to back up their well arrogance i suppose but that hasnt really being the case with the RC212V desite the vast resources and countless do-da

So we have established that they won 3 of the 5 990 world titles (finishing second when they lost), won something in the region of half the races and were already the most successful factory in the history of grand prix bike racing before that. They were runner up last year so they aren't invincible, but i think its a bit early for them to conclude that their attitude is fundamentally wrong.

World Championships, although the ultimate goal in the sport, no longer are considered in a rider's reputation.
