I hav'nt seen any Stoner V's Rossi threads in an age so with the season start just round the corner I thought I'd kick start what will surely be the big debate of the year

Obviously I hope Rossi wipes the floor with them all

NOPE thats all everyone will see this year including rossi is a small red blip in the distance... ducati have made big progress with the cf frame and no doubt the motor has more grunt plus they can setup the bike way quicker than anyone else..the big advantage going stoners way is reduced setup time, so stoner is going to trounce them all like in 2007.

rossi will bounce back in 2010 when yamaha finds another good formula

Thats a very realistic view but can the kid keep it under control and rubber side down this year??? Casey would have walked away with it last year only for his own .... ups.

yes all the practice cutting definatley favors stoner. the red dot theory seems quite plausible.

yep plus stoner has had time to mull over his defeat and will start this season with a new head of thinking.

plus we still havent seen stoner do a long race simulation so other things come into play like his wrist and how the new tyres will hold up to his style of riding, if the new frame and electronics are kinder on the tyres then all the other riders are in trouble... i may be wrong but i wont be betting against stoner this season.

Don't forget too that the Yamy has more grunt this year as well... That said I think it will be a little more challenging for Stoner but I think he will pull it off again - plus he has the upbeat spirit of Hayden, maybe helping to keep VR out of his head.

"Other" things may come into play...

When you are on the best bike, with tires made for you, and everybody in the organization with an ounce of power is making deals for you, that might come into play.
If Stoner wins this year it will be an amazing feat. More amazing than any championship ever, besides 06 of course

Yeah I hope we see the Stoner up on the top of the podium but not at the expense of boring races. I am really hoping to see the field tighten up a bit due to Hayden on a machine better suited to him, Dovi as well, Jorge should be there, Pedrosa even but I hope he is in the back of that pack.

Even though I have geat respect for both of them I was doing the exact same when Casey dropped it. I'm more loyal to Vale as I've supported him longer

Geez I didn't even credit those guys and your right. That would be awesome. I wished Capi had won the WC the year he was on the Duc when Sete and he had that bad crash and took him out of the Championship. I really thought the way he was going he was going to win the thing. But yeah the suzuki guys can really help the series out a bit here with getting in the mix as well. If they do and we have a nail biter season then the 800's don't look soooo bad even though we all know better. Right CUrve? LOL
