Stoner tests[RC213V]? at Jerez

If this was said by one Mr. Rossi, then most in the forum would have erupted saying how he is using Pedrobot as a test mule

(just joking)

Exhibit A.

There need not be any visible differences between a 800cc and a 1000cc bike. 200cc (the capacity of a glass) can be pretty much invisible (think how fast a half pint of beer can disappear)

All top riders so far have liked these bikes better, even with all the current limitations. Pity Pedro could not test it, I wonder if he will also like the additional torque and power of the 1000cc better? That should make riding them even more physically demanding.

When CaliKid managed to get us all into the Dani Q and A session at Laguna last year I asked him afterwards about this. I commented on how quickly he adapted to the 990 and how comfortable he looked on it. Dani beamed from ear to ear. Asking him which was the more satisfying to ride, he said that the 800's were far more difficult and challenging due to their peaky power and precise lines, grinning again he then said that the 990's were much more fun.

I don't however expect next years 1 litre bikes to share many of the characteristics of thier 990 predecessors - and given the huge advances in technology since 2006 should be easier to manhandle. Let's just hope that the increased torque allows for an interesting spread of lines again - (despite the fact that 800's hardly seem to have restricted RDP and Simoncelli in this department

-remember CS's comments about following Randy in the Mugello race two years ago? )

hehehehe.....

I think the other factories will be a little worried that first ride of the bike by someone fast and it seems to be pretty much sorted. If no time is required to fix problems then 100% of development can be spent on going fast.

Stoners comments regarding Pedrosa and his importance in the testing of the new bike show how respectful Stoner is of his team mate and how much of a team player he is. I define anyone to produce a comment from any other top rider where they show genuine interest in their team mates input and contribution to the development of the bike. It is this attitude and the team work that it fosters that will see the Honda be the dominate force in the immediate future. I know some do not like to admit it but it has never been all about Stoner in Stoner's mind. It reminds me of his second year at Ducati when he did not push for more money but preferred that the money was spent on the bike to the benefit of the whole team rather than just his personal coffers.

I agree. I regained a lot of respect I lost for Stoner from the recent episodes, with his concern for Dani

He's just doing it for the cameras. The real Stoner comes out in the practice/qualifying sessions and normally ends in tears.

If you don't like him that's fine, but again point out where he actually, rather than in talpa's fevered imagination, does dangerous things. Of the current riders he is probably among the most scrupulous in giving riders racing room, and is at least not hypocritical in his attitude towards the slow on the racing line thing. Even when he had the real bridgestone tyres and was in the habit of doing his sighting lap tyre warming blast he always made sure he was well clear of other riders. I see no reason at all for any suspicion that his concern about safety, both his and that of others, is not genuine. He and dani whilst now rivals in the same team which make things rather fraught have always seemed to have a good relationship and I recall very few negative comments on either side. I think it is also difficult to suggest he has any lack of courage, given how long and how far past the edge he rode that thing.

There is just too much lovin going on so I thought I'd add a little 'balance'. There was a wink after my comment.

Sure, being an aging luddite I am not good with the emoticons. I generally find you fair minded, and agree he does not deserve complete exoneration or wholesale love in view of the de puniet punch/poke

. Arrabbiata's and halfpint's comments that he exaggerated the danger may also be true, although the impression of speed is hard to get from a video as opposed to live at a track.

I think gpone's comment "improper and arrogant, but not particularly dangerous" just about covers it. He is on notice now, and no-one can defend him if he repeat offends in terms of actual physical contact, mainly figuratively or not.
