<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE<div class='quotemain'>MotoGP champion Casey Stoner has ruled out following in the footsteps of rival Valentino Rossi and testing a Formula One car in the near future.

The Australian recently saw seven-time F1 world champion Michael Schumacher impress in a test at Valencia on his Ducati GP7 bike, but still thinks it too early for him to consider trying out an F1 machine himself.

"I'm not ready for this, because I've never really driven a car," he was quoted as saying by Motor Cycle News. "I'm sure he (Schumacher) has been practicing on bikes and I haven't been in cars.

"I'll wait until I can drive a little bit more before I try a Formula One car. I don't want to jump in without any experience. I'd rather know what I'm doing before I get in one. I've driven karts a lot, but not really a performance car."

Despite his reluctance to test an F1 car soon, Stoner admits that he has the desire to try one out at some point in the future.

"One day this is something I want to do, but maybe I'll wait some years yet. It will be nice to get some advice from Michael."

Who's next to the rumour mill?

It seems rather stupid since apart from the top speed its a whole different game to some of these guys.

Nicky Hayden is replacing Barrichello after 2008.

Actually F1 cars have dropped Traction control, launch control and they have to drop the clutch for starts now.

yea and i'm sure the manufacturers would love their motogp riders to get hurt doing showman acts for no good reason.

Valentino tested the F1 because he was thinking of a career there... otherwise its unnecessary.

Is it just me, or was the premier class 500cc 2-strokes as recently as 2001? What the hell are you talking about? The manufacturers are used to scrubs (and champions) flying over the bars.

Costa needs the business. Did you ever stop to think about him?

Yea but they are professional motorcycle riders not professional car drivers or whatever with licenses in that form of motorsport.

Oh. You meant showman act in an F1 car. I see.

I thought you meant riding a motorcycle without TC and launch control was a frivolous showman's act.
