My experience with Stoner was that how good the interview was depended on whether he liked you or not. Adam Wheeler (from OTOR) seems to have built up a really good rapport with him. Also, Stoner is a very different person nowadays. Much more relaxed than he was when racing. Enjoying life. Good to see.
While he was racing, he was coiled tight as a spring. How he's not racing any longer, he's much more relaxed, I am told. He looks that way in videos I have seen with him.
This is why I am happy he has retired. I'm sad not to see him racing any more, but as a human being, it's great to see him actually having a life.

I agree. Getting paid 10 million dollars a year, while racing motorcycles around the world and banging groupies is no life.
His wife was always with him. I don't think he ever had a chance to be banging groupies. And he never got paid 10 million dollars. That must be Valentino Rossi you are thinking about.

Yup. Such an unfailing presence at his side could explain his early retirement actually... and grumpy mood. Now he can go fishing, and leave her home

Suppo, speaking using an excess of the conditional tense, said that he spoke to Stoner, but it wasn't possible. Much in that article was left hanging.
Livio Suppo says that Stoner has offered himself, but they said no because they think maybe Stoner isn't fast enough right now. They have started the season with a weak result and don't want to try any odd thing.

Ok thanks. I don't think there's anyone reasonable who think Stoner could climb on a MotoGP bike after all this time and compete. I don't think he'd be that fast for a some time. That being said, I don't think Aoyama will be all that fast either.

What Suppo says is that he talked to Stoner who would have liked it, but considering that he doesn't know that track, and the level is so high now, and that they already had a disappointing result at Losail, and that the fans would be happy but would also expect top performance from him, etc etc. --- all this considered, together with the need to keep MM concentrated on what matters, they opted for no.
That makes sense, and revelas something new: after all he said, now that he is well rested, Casey Stoner wouldn't mind to race again. Probably not a championship, but one or two races. If this is true, it means only one thing: that he retired too early, and a comeback cannot be ruled out; probably in more relaxed circumstances, when Marquez hs a safe position in the championship, or who knows, with another manufacturer? Where there is a desire, a way can be found.
