I'm gutted, that was an amazing race. What a shame for Kagayama and Haga. I'm not really a Toesland fan but all credit to him I'm over the moon for him and for us brits!

Toseland was definately 'man of the match' though....

'nooo' can discribe how I feel now!! I was so carefully looking not to open any topics with the raceresults, I thought NOOO wasn't about the race, and now I know the result and who crashed
<
maybe my own fault, I shouldn't come on the site when I don't want to know the race results, but it's a bit spoiled now....
<

I've merged the Noooo thread by Pinkers & the Noooo thread by Morgo to avoid double posting & people seeing the results of that FANTASTIC 1st race!!!

Marijke..................you know you should say of the forum when races happen
<
Maybe we should ensure "SPOLIER" is used in the subject title????

----

Anyway, the race!!

That was superb action, seriously on the edge racing!! JT coming 1st from 10th, that was a superb ride........then those mad Japs!! Hell-Nitro Nori was really sticking that bike in some great overtaking positions! Such a shame he took Kaga out on the last lap.....reminded me of Jerez with sete & vale!!

Thought the Troys would have had more speed, where did Bayliss get all that speed fromon the last lap when he wasclosing on JT?

The boy did good!

Roll on race two..............

thought you had eurosport anyway? Did you not see the race?

No I haven't seen it yet, eurosports is all about the winter olympics now
<
the other senders are broadcasting it tomorrow afternoon in a summery. thanks for the spoiler tag, very handy, maybe keep it at every race-result-topic in the future, for timezone differences etc??

Sorry about that 46marijke69. Better title next time!

I read about the race but won't have the chance to watch it. Sounds absolutely spectacular, so happy for Toseland. Looking at his test times I really feared he would have another poor season but he's started the best possible way. What happened to Muggas? He was the only other rider to get under the 2 min. mark besides Bayliss and then was nowhere to be found in the race.

Surprised with Corser's performance in race two. I didn't think he'd have anything on Bayliss, good for him. Glad to see Nori recovering for a podium in race two as well. Good showing from Barros in his first outing, he just may be fighting for wins in a couple rounds time.

Must say I'm a little disappointed in Lanzi, thought we'd see more of him at the front. Also disappointed with Xaus, wondering if he's still banged up from his training crash in the winter.

james did great from the back but just wondering how many times haga is gunna crash this term? it must harm his chances for the season.. any thoughts on barros?

Both races were great! I feel sympathy for Kagayama, he was sidelined from the team until Biaggi declined the Suzuki offer and when he had a chance to prove his skills Nitro-crazy-Nori took him down.
<

2nd race I thought Bayliss was going to take it, but he couldn't make a proper pass on Corser who kept focused and did the job.

I think Xaus did a pretty good job, starting 21st on the grid ending up 10th is very good considering he still can't walk without crutches.

I'm also I bit sad for my compatriot Nieto, he was the leading Kawa in both races but his rear brake failed in the first race forcing him to abandon. Anyways he beated his much more experienced teammates Laconi and Walker in the 2nd race.
<

Kawa still far away from the lead.
<

I was not impressed by Lanzi, I don't see why Ducati corse dumped the pianist for this guy.

what happened in the 2nd race??

havent had chance to watch either but i believe jamie boy was a bit lucky to win the 1st cos of the crash. glad to see a brit winning though
<
<
<

You always need luck to win, but luck alone wont win you a race. JT was where he had to be to take advantage of Nori's strike.

BTW I'd like to congratulate TV 5 for the coverage they did of the GP, pre-race inteviews with Xaus and Nieto, 1st race delayed until 12pm so we got both races in a row (2nd race LIVE) with Dennis Noyes as commentator. Well done guys.

Toseland.. fantastic start for the ol' boy!! so happy for him.. shame he'sa .... starter!! really thought TB was gunna whoop ..... but still 2 2nds aint a bad start!! lol But Come On JT!! Title's his this yr!! Lol

Nope, It's still going to Bayliss. He's just getting comfortable. Then He'll leave 'em ALL for dead

i know he didnt come first, but i reckon ANdy Pitt did a great job .... i was so proud of him....
<

Yeah! Pitty finally got his podium. He should be setting an example for Muggas. C'mon man! Show 'em what supersport champs are made of!

great races both!!! last lap battle between the 2 troys was fantastic! shame about kagayama & haga... hey but thats racin! hell of a way to start the season. philip island next week! gonna
<
be brilliant!

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (rossi 46 winner @ Feb 25 2006, 01:45 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>any thoughts on barros?
if he can get a better starts, he'll be there. he had the pace. he's got almost no time on the bike or tires. so this was an impressive test for him. few more rounds he could be the big surprise of the season... but way to early to tell.

He's doing pretty well, for a "rookie"

I'm relived now because I realized two second placings is better than a 1st and a fourth, so Bayliss has the championship lead. Race wins will come next weekend.

Absolute corker guys!!!!

What a way to start the season off!!! Look i know i was moaning about the fact i would not be able to watch the races but luckily my girlfriend let me watch them at her house!!! yay!!

I wanna talk about it all day but i cant so...

Race1- All credit to Toseland, although he was gifted 1st(and i think u could tell he felt lucky when he won) he thouroughly deserved it because of how far he climbed during the race. Haga wont be doing THAT again in a hurry! especially to his mate and fellow countrymen. Gutted for both of them. Bayliss is obviously facing some stiff competition this year, and not just from Corser...

Race2- well i think i needed a beer after that one. When i saw Corser go out front i thought that might be it but bayliss is a charger and we got what we wanted which was a battle of the troys, i was so chuffed. I think my main opinion of race two was how tough Corser raced- fair play to him- although i think that bayliss might still come out on top of the majority of 'scraps' this year i thought corser did so well, he fought like a lion and thats what we want. Fantastic, hope to see more this year. Roll on Phillip island- the homeland of the two troys

Yeah, in the bloody, neck and tooth scraps if Corser's a lion then Bayliss is like an African Poacher.
<

Corser is awsome. He's proved he can match Bayliss, but I still think Bayliss is a better rider. Both awsome riders.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (RallyeRon @ Feb 27 2006, 07:10 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>Haga wont be doing THAT again in a hurry!

I told you Nori was crazy! But you gotta love him, always either on the gas or on his arse.

Well said Richo.

If either of the Troys win the title this year, they will put themselves up there with the greats. We know Foggy is the best WSB rider with 4 titles, Corser and Edwards have 2 each, who else has more than one?
