I feel sorry for Bautista but just waiting for it to happen. He was so much slower in the corners and all the power to fight off an increasingly frustrated Simoncelli
Seems like we have e new king in backing it in. Kallio showed some superb bike control in that last corner hairpin
<
But he was lucky to get the top spot here.

Bautistas first words after he took off his helmet were that the his engine had seized. Simoncelli was constantly on Bautistas rear tire and any malfunction would have caused what happened. We'll see if the Aprilia mechanics find that the engine seized...

Have to feel sorry for both of the leaders, great race by both of them spoiled. Kallio had been left behind badly but at least he stayed out of trouble. This championship is gonna be good.

That make a lot of sense. The commentators here were both angry at Simoncelli but I never saw this as a passing attempt, but a misscalculation where he was a bit to close and Butista had a slide or something. A seized engine would of course be even more effective.

I agree but allthough it must be said that Kallio, as he said in the post race interview, has had his full share of bad luck the recent years and it was about time he had some luck.

Never paid attention to the 250's, but found the race very exciting. The Simoncelli, Bautistas battle was just so exciting. I think, if Bautistas had ot had his engine trouble, he would have held off Simoncelli though.

That´s a tuff call, I think that Simoncelli was biding his time and in the last lap there would have been some serious possition switchs. Who would have come out on top? Don´t know. Maybe we´ll get to see a reply, with and actual ending, in Estoril.

Interview on Autosport with Simoncelli:

"(When we were in the gravel) I knew he did something different compared to the other laps," Simoncelli said, "but when he turned towards me I thought: 'I bet he has something to complain about, this will end up with a slap-fight'.

Is this how riders settle things? A slap-fight? I may have to reconsider my idolization of them.

Simoncelli was lining up a move into the first right hander of the stadium and was significantly faster at that point, so my guess is he would have got past. After that its anyones guess...........
