Spies is lowering expectations so he can bake a giant Guiness-Book-sized humble pie just for you

Being fast on track during practice sessions and being fast on track while battling it out with competitors is 2 different things. Just take a look at Pedrosa.

IMO Ben Spies has neither. But i guess we'll just have to wait and see.

No. I have deep animosity for everything towards USA and that's not secret. But that's too isn't subject of discussion here. Subject is how another American fraud (as Hayden is) searching for excuses already after his first test on WSBK machine.

how can it be an excuse when its a given fact??

Now he's icing the pie so that it looks like "old glory"

That can be a fact for rider who is a mortal at the same time. But allegedly, Spies is Moses. So we cannot apply that on him.

I'm pretty sure Moses died like a billion years ago...

He is not Moses, he is Elijah and he will rain down fire upon thee.

They even argue with each other.

Who said Spies was Moses?

Thats right, no one.

Why dont you come off your xenophoic high horse for a couple of minutes and stop spouting crap about American riders? Maybe post a comment about a rider you LIKE.

Or just leave.

There is only one guy to beat, in my opinion, in 2009 and that you can beat that guy then you might be a great rider.

That guy is Haga!

If Spies can ride and fight with Haga at US tracks or world track then he will have earned my respect and admiration.

Two more things to add....
If Spies does ride well in 2009 for Yamaha and comes say top 10 or even top 5 or gets few wins/podiums then what does Yamaha do with him for 2010?
- Move him to Tech 3 in GPs and hand the Yamaha WSBK effort to Edwards?
- Keep in WSBk to try and really win the title in 2010?

Or even worse if he does not do well at all 2009 then does Yamaha do with him....?
- Take chance to keep him in WSBK possibly doing better in year 2?
- Or move him to GPs without a proven record on the world stage?

The pressure is on Ben to deliver for himself and Yamaha....So best of luck to him and Yamaha

Cheap excuses. There's no surprise here.

Oh please! We get it already. You hate American riders. Can you get any more boring??? How long will you keep on beating a dead horse?

Okay so at least you're out of the closet now. You think you're the Ayatollah of the racing world and you want to make a fatwah against American riders. Just like the real Ayatollah - you are toothlessly laughable and impotent and nobody gives a .... what you think. You have no real impact to speak of. People only respond to you because they're bored. If it's politics you want to rant about - do it in a politics forum.
