So, Stoner is back, in style.

My wish has been fulfilled
<

Suddenly, all those who had declared Stoner finished and enthroned Lorenzo as the real deal, are quiet. Good
<
I have (and had) no doubt that Stoner is the strongest rider in the new generation challenging King Valentino.
<

Lorenzo is sometimes super-fast but crashes too much and still lacks the consistency and intelligence required to become MotoGP World Champion. I personally doubt he will eventually mature, but then I am biased since I dislike his character
<

Pedrosa is constantly up and down, it is clear he will never do much better than this. I think Honda should stop building the bike for him and concentrate more on other riders. Pedro should go back to 250 (pardon, Moto2) and reign there for the foreseeable future

A class apart? I seem to remember Rossi running the same pace all race long. Rossi also set the fastest lap of the race.

Who won the race? Who slid like a madman?C`mon chap,Casey was the man that day.

I agree that waiting for a race where both are in contention for the championship might be a good idea, but I am not sure a fastest lap by .007 seconds when already behind is all that germane either.

surely it should read "So, a Happy Stoner is back, in style."

he looked more cheerful and relaxed than he has in 2 years....i wonder if valentino and j-lo are so happy hes back and racing again?

Lorenzo's intelligence is what stands him above Dani and Casey, even if Casey has him on outright speed. As for crashing too much, he has just one more race crash than Rossi this year. The stakes have been high so risks need to be taken.

But one thing hadn't changed, I parc ferme, he was still saying they didn't get a good set up on the bike
<

I think he should have just thanked everyone for doing a good job and disapeared of with all those blondes in his garage!
<
<
after all he did win, so what does it matter if it wasn't set up to his liking.

He's a racer, and with nothing to race for this year he'll probably be working on the bike for next year already. And so he should

I am not sure I agree with either of your points. It is hard to know on different bikes who has the raw speed although both have plenty. Stoner didn't crash at all during a race in 2007, and mainly in 2008 did so when the championship situation was arguably such that win it or bin it was the only strategy offering him any chance, whilst lorenzo has crashed several times when not in such a situation. Off the track I would agree jorge appears very intelligent.

Of course I'm speaking of racing intelligence, the thing that can make you win even when you are a little bit slower, or anyway not faster than your opponents, and so far Lorenzo has shown very little of it, if any.

I don't agree, i think he's been fairly smart besides his home race, just as the results show

I have to concede he was intelligent enough not to be incapacitated for half of this season.

Well, I have to agree with that,

He also said he felt he should have run 1.30's every lap. I think that was the pole time
<
ive never known a rider do every race lap equal to a pole lap
<

before some gimp chimes in, i know they no longer have qualis, but they do have super soft.

It’s amazing how somebody with questionable motives says something and we all run with it. J4rno brings up the question of Lorenzo's intelligence because he's been actively vilifying him. Rossi says a few negative grumbles about his teammate and the cult follows suit.

Rossi never said anything negative about Lorenzo's intelligence. Quite the opposite, as a matter of fact. You could be more generous and acknowledge my right to my own judgements, without having to follow a "cult" to form them
<

"Actively vilifying"... c'mon. You never resented all the many things said about poor Pedrosa like this, did you. That's just your likes and dislikes against mine, nothing more!
