Of course the quali was weird - but who knows? Maybe Bautista is gelling with the Honda at last. My guess - he will be fighting it out with Dovi. Me... I'm hoping the Pie Man does well here.

ditto, wonder if we'll ever know what went on with spies earlier in the season.. i hope he can keep this up.

i love how everyone was writing him off.. i mean come on.. the guy was real close to winning valencia last year, and other than the aliens, he was the only one to.. ahh who cares.. he's american.. do somethin son!

Yeah, I'm with you two - go Ben. He's had a .... season so far which I believe is not a reflection of his talent or what he is capable of. I guess it was easy to overlook or discount Alvaro's pole due to qualy being cut short. But I think it was deserved. He rode really well up until it started raining and said himself that he made mistakes on his pole lap, therefore could have gone even faster. I'll be the first to admit that I aint enjoying this Spanish domination in top level bike racing at present. However, I make a big exception with this guy. I would love to see him on that top step. Great to see Fausto with an emotional smile on his face. That team has had some hard times to deal with and deserve some good times to look forward to.

WTF are u guys smoking? Bautista put in a fast lap then it started raining with 10+ minutes to go, when the usual suspects were ramping up to put in their flyers. Have u guys ever watched qual? Gelling with the Honda? Is this ur assessment because he got a pole in this kind of scenario? Who wants to bet me he wont be on the podium (baring crashes from the usual suspects)?

If we have these conditions tomorrow, expect some crashes. And it wont be the tires to blame, it will be the .... tricky conditions.

Spoiler 1) Stoner wins

Spoiler 2) Bautista isn't that fast. He's just Bartowtruckabera on a better bike. This is the career highlight. RDP should be on that bike...

Spoiler 3) Pies get deliverd to the podium... Crutch is starting from the back and Ben is desperate for a result.

Spoiler 4) Watching Cal cleave through the field for the first half of the race is going to be fun.

Who gives a .... if it started raining blah blah blah. He put in the fastest lap when it was needed. The others should have known better that a quick lap was needed early due to threatening rain, but they dicked-around. He deserved it. End of.

Agreed. Good luck and all credit to him.

Not implying Bautista got pole because he's more familiar with the Honda - merely that he seems to be riding much better with it. I don't recall him being anywhere near pole position this late in qualifying, during this season. I qualified saying Stoner or Lorenzo would have bested him in the last 15 minutes if the rain hadn't started to fall on the cold track. One could easily argue that he was intuitive enough to put in his fast lap before the rain could start to fall. I think he'll be happy to take a third or fourth in the race.

Anybody know what that little green blinking light is on the shoulder of Espargaro's leathers?
