Does anyone know if JL was running the M1 with the fuel tank on the front or back? Article said JL & RV would have several different M1's available to test.

They have 3 bikes each; a 2015 bike on Michelins, a hybrid bike, and a full on 2016 prototype. Crash has reported that Lorenzo found the full on 2016 bike too radical, so spent most of the day (and presumably set his best lap time) on the 2015/16 hybrid bike.

I'd say this is him engaging in psychological warfare with Rossi to a greater extent. Rossi doesn't have the speed anymore to keep up with Lorenzo when things are on, so my guess is in the wake of last season's ending, he's probably twisting a knife to goad Rossi into unforced errors while he tries to bring down the time gap.

Race pace is almost always slower than test pace. Compared to last year Sepang test first session, Lorenzo is 4/10ths slower than leader of that session. Marquez eventually went 1.58.8 in session 3 . We will know a lot more in a couple of days

Agree, however, the RCV appears to be in a bit of trouble. I'm not convinced they solved the engine issues that made Marc uncomfortable. Given the spec ECU, I'm thinking they'll have a harder time masking it like they did last year with their proprietary electronics.
