Look behind you....
Check motogp.com for more information, but Sebas Porto has just announced, with immediate effect, his resignation from all forms of motorsport.

Repsol Honda 250cc rider. He's ridden Aprilia 250s since 2003 and was very strong in 2003 and some of 2004. Has been well off the pace in 2006 and wasn't up front very often in 2005. Who will get his seat? Crash mentioned Chaz Davies but no offense to him I believe it was just creating talk for their boy. I would certainly like to see Chaz or Westy get the ride but who knows.

hope chaz get's it! west is a tool.

Wow that's really shocking, the guy is not old, but I must praise his decision, not many guys have the balls to admit they are not up to the job, it's much easier to blame the bike.

yessssss FINALLY someone who see's him for who he is

He said that he wasn't compatible with the bike, that his adaptation was the problem, and that living in hotels and travelling from airport to airport has taken its toll on him and that he's tired, and now he no longer has the motivation to fight for races, so he's quitting after Catalunya.

I agree with Ooost he had a good innings in 2003 & 2004, and has won a few races. I too was wondering why he was not running at the sharp end, and the lack of motivation is a valid answer. He will be missed Im sure, whether another Argentine will replace him in the near future, who knows.

A real pity, but I`m sure he`s doing what`s best.

Ok, who do really think is gonna get his ride? I`m not too clued into 250s, but would Davies or West be next on the list? I mean, I`m sure they`re bothe great riders, but they seem to be the type that always get looked over and ignored by factory teams. Who else would be in contention? Surely they`ve got enough options. Any chance of them pulling Luthi up? What do you think?

Lüthi no chance!

I don't think West or Davies have too many chances either, maybe Davies could benefit from being British, since Dorna is interested in having Brits in the championship.

I guess if it depends on the sponsor (Repsol) they would like to have another South American, so I guess Martin Cárdenas (Col) and Fabricio Perren (Arg) who are already Honda riders have a decent chance.

BTW GO DEBÓN !!!

Spanish TV said most probable candidate is Julian Simón (current 125cc KTM rider), West is also being rumoured.

So they'd bring Simon up from 125s but not Luthi? Honda really knows how to reward it`s champions dosen`t it? It would be intresting to see what West says when he can`t blame a lack of factory support for mediocre results.

It's definately not going to be Simón, he broke his leg in this morning's 125cc race, so he'll be out for a few weeks.

Lüthi could have moved to 250cc this year but for some reason he decided to stay, so I don't think he will go now either.

I was under the impression that he didn`t get a decent offer.

You don`t know why he decided to stay? 250s would be a natural progression wouldnt it? That sounds like a very Hopper-Ducati style stupid descision to me. Oh well, I suppose he has his reasons. Could it be that he`d rather be on an Aprilia than a Honda in 250`s? Still better to get your foot in the door than lingering in 125s and risk becoming cold and losing any chance at moving up, ever. Which can, and is happening in the unpredictable 125s. Or maybe he`s just scared of bigger bikes?
