Schumacher back on the Desmosedici

He could probably beat Melandri
<

Why does he keep on with this? I know Schumacher has incredible "race speed" when he gets in the heat of competition, but he's out of his realm of expertise.

If he can't beat a wet qualifying record he can't even come close to qualifying for this year's race.

<u> "But I repeat it very clearly that I have no intention at all to step into any kind of Moto GP competitions."</u>

End of story

It's catching on, Kimi wants in

I'd love an F1 allstars race taking place on GP bikes!! Never gonna happen though, far too dangerous.

What the hell is it with the propogation of "feelgood" stories and "fairytales" in motogp lately!!??

How the hell can anyone even think that Schumaker can even compete with West even

i think its pretty cool the guy has a great intrest in bikes, he's had 3 races in 10 days and finished good in all races.

i say more power to the guy, why are people so negative about the guy racing bikes, he's made it clear its a hobby and he has no intrest in making it a career.

oh well now you put it like that ... oh I see ..... yes it would be great for him then ..... and a real spectacle too .......

Wacko!!

Edit: I am assuming we are dealing with the crazy speculation of him riding in a GP .... just in case we are getting of track. He may well discount it ever happening .... but what gets me is why is he even needing to give it a thought ...... he is nowhere near the level of even the bassest GP rider ..... so downright dangerous is what it would be to me .... but irrespective of all that .... what has motogp become if such things are even remotely touted!!??

This is nothing more than Rossi testing the Ferrari.
The speculation and hype surrounding Rossi possibly going to F1 served the series well and kept the interest very high in both Motogp and F1. The buzz itself was served round the world.

Schumi is doing the same thing but on the bikes. Plus the fact that he likes to ride is a plus.

Did anyone seriously think that Rossi could step off a bike and mix it with the F1 boys?

Noone in their right mind things Schumi can mix it with the World Supersport Guys let alone WSBK/Motogp guys.

This is good marketing. This is good for interest in the sport. Good for Schumi in his retirement and good for all the motorcycle supporting cast - mags, sponsors etc.
Motogp especially needs it after the snooze fest that was last season with tremendous drops in TV ratings in the biggest european markets.

i never said he should race in gp's, i agree he would be well off the pace

i never heard him say in any interview that he considered the idea of racing in gp's, if you had a chance to ride a gp bike would you not do it, after that it was in the hands of the jurnos and the people stupid enough to believe what they said.

not to compare his riding ability but his manner to racing, i see it similar to joey dunlop who at times packed up his van with two bikes and drove across europe competing in races, it was a hobby and passion to joey just as it is to schumacher.

schumacher did pretty well in misano the other day in his first pro race on his KTM Duke, he qualified third and finish fourth, having dropped down to 14th and fought his way back up through the field in a 10 lap race.

Read somewhere else Schumi came in 1st on a Triumph and podiumed 3rd on a Fireblade.
I for one envy the guy.

How lucky and cool would it be -

"me dreaming...... oh mr Duc999 you like Golf, well here is Tiger and Hank Haney to play and teach youthe game. And yes Mr. Nicklaus is your personal instructor as well.

or Mr Duc I heard that you are developing a love for tennis - well meet Mr. Sampras and Mr Agasi. They will be your coaches and you will get to play at wimbledon, Roland Garros etc whenever you'd like...."

For me Schumi's opportunities would be perfect. Ride the Ducati whenever.. Mamola for an instructor. Hang out in the paddock, ultra exclusive access to everthing motorcyling racing and car racing as well.

I don't knock the guy at all. Live the dream.. Live the dream Schumi!!!

Last weekend Schumacher arrived 4th at Misano in an amateur motard race. He battled for most of the time with a bakery owner from a small Italian town. From there to MotoGP, why not - then I'll agree MotoGP these days has become too easy

not to take anything away from the guy but those two races were against amature's, the KTM was his first against pro racers..
