While Dovi and Rossi battled, Pedrosa was on the gravel and was in danger if one of the two Italians crashed there. They were battling hard, braking late and riding at the limit, so a crash was possible. However, the duel began in the corner before the back straight and it was difficult for them to see the flag......I believe it is ok that Rossi was not given a ride through, even though the rules say otherwise.....it is a hard call.

Hahahaha We already knew that Dovi had passed him at the middle of the straight, its approaching the corner where Rossi executed the retake genius. At that point, Rossi made the infraction.

I do not have a particular view on the particular incident at hand but my view on the flags in general is that once you pass a flag you can not see if it has changed and it the riders duty to look for the next flag and that is the one that becomes relevant until you can no longer see it.
If you look at a blue flag is it telling you that once you go past it you must yield to the rider lapping you or does it mean that as soon as you see it you must yield?
Either way it is another case that the rules are so ambiguous that no one can say definitively that it is X. In my view this is not acceptable at the pinnacle of the sport. When Teams are spending many millions on gaining tenths of seconds to win races the governing bodies should be able to lay out a set of rules that are not open to interpretation on something as simple as when does a yellow flag's jurisdiction commence.

First of all if you read my post you will see i did not say his fans disagreed with the fine. I said they could not defend him. Now onto the Rossi issue, you may not think he committed the offence and i apologise if you thought my comment was aimed at you but you will see several other despite the evidence to the contrary still beat that drum. I'm calling it a smokescreen by some of his fans and the normal haters. I should have put the word SOME in my original post but that's my only mistake !
