Rossi wins ... Lorenzo demands different tires??

Classic Lorenzo crying foul and Marquez enjoying the view of Lorenzo's ....

Michelin produced a tire that works well for ALL riders. At Jerez all of practice, qual, warmup and not a single complaint from Lorenzo "happy with the tires" ... Rossi exposes Lorenzo's lack of talent at Jerez and suddenly the tires are no good.

Dorna had also suggested a rules change to have a minimum bike AND rider weight to help neutralize rider weight advantages ... guess who said NO to that ... yes Honda.

This is getting so ridiculous ... why doesn't Dorna just tell Rossi to leave if they hate him so much? Even the commentators reluctantly (sheepish voices) congratulate Rossi's dominance at Jerez. Is Dorna worried about losing a massive fan base? I didn't see any lack of cheering for Rossi at Jerez in Lorenzo/Marquez country ... just the opposite, you would think Dorna would want have a MIN weight rule that covers bike AND rider (lighter riders having to add ballast to meet MIN weight)?

The tires will suddenly change and be "softer" for next race at Le Mans so that lighter riders don't have to "adjust" their riding to style to make the tires work ... funny how that works, heavier riders have to "adjust", lighter riders just get whatever they want.

Lorenzo/Marquez wanting a "level" playing field, HECK NO!

I have an idea. Give all of them tyres which suit them.

Maybe it's payback for the edge grip tyres that helped Jorge clear off into the distance so many times, those suited him and these don't, however it's the same across the board so just accept it and move on.

Source?

I give absolutely zero substance to something that has no credible source, let alone no source at all.

Stop whining Robains and making stuff up in your head.

what a load of cobblers. If Jorge has grip issues with the tryes he has to voice them for safety's sake!!! :banghead: I sometimes get the feeling he cant win no matter what he says!!!!

It wasn't just Jorge though, Redding claimed his tyre had delaminated again. He said he had to slow by nearly 3 seconds a lap to finish and was terrified of it exploding like before.
He was pretty angry.

Pedrosa also said it was like riding in the rain - no grip.

Mind you, only JL can be wrong and whinging I guess (sarcasm Libby, sarcasm :D )

I thought both Jorge and Marc mentioned the tyres in Parc Ferme immediately after the race.

Could it be those silly wings not letting enough weight transfer to the rear , therefore giving the tyre more chance to spin ?

It's an interesting theory, but I think at slower speeds where acceleration is greatest and hence loading up the tyre more, the wings don't have a significant enough effect.

More likely the tyre construction coupled with the less sophisticated ECU.

Lorenzo did immediately and a cover was thrown over his rear tyre promptly, but a quick cameraman got a shot of it looking completely chewed up in the middle of the tread.
All Jorge did was congratulate Michelin on their work on their work improving the front tyres and say they must do the same for the rears or someone will get hurt very soon.

Valentino also mentioned it. It's not the fact that JLo mentioned it, it's how he mentioned it. Saying that he could have won by a large margin when he hadn't even had a chance to see Vales bike data yet.

Funny how all riders had tyre problems apart from 1

I suspect Rossi had his bike set up the best, coupled with the excellent mechanical grip of the factory Yamaha and his extra weight, gave the old guy enough grip to dominate the race. He rode great and deserves his accolades.
It was stated that no grip led to tremendous wheel spin that destroyed the tyres down the middle. The Ducati bikes' power is overwhelming the tyres anyway and they possibly have less natural grip than the Yamaha's anyway.
A Yamaha 1-2 is a good day anyway [emoji1]
