Could Rossi Win 2006 Championship on the 2005 M1 Machine ?

The 2005 M1 was driven to Jerez on Monday past in the back of a van,.!

I think he could do it, but this is a sign that Yamaha and Honda are reversing roles in terms of development since the end of the preseason
<
But it is the doc, provided he qualifies decently, dosen't get taken out and has the bike set up n ready for the race, they could crack out the old YZR500 for its last year of complying with the rules and I think he cold win on it
<

i really cant see rossi riding the 2005 bike in races , aint they just looking to find a fault and how to change it? if the 2006 bike continues with more trouble at other tracks then maybe they could change but i cant see it..

rossi has set very high standards and thats all about winning, sum riders its a great achievement to get on the podium, with this 2006 bike rossi can still get podiums all season.

Indeed, very interesting stats ! don't ye think
<

Rossi's pole last year was 1.39.419,. Loris this year was 1.39.064
Rossi's best race lap lasy year was 1.40.596 Loris this year was 1.41.248

<

This to me suggests that Rossi would have been 3rd on the grid with last years time, and won the race with last years bike,..

from what I remember both races [ 2005/6] were dry sunny warm,...
if so, then above times suggest Rossi would have been 3rd on grid with the 2005 M1, and won the race !, barring any learners getting in the way

I remember reading that Loris said the track was too clean Friday. No 'blue groove'. There had been a lot of rain at Jerez since the last test. That could be the explaination for the slower race pace. I really don't think Rossi would have been 3rd with 2005 bike /tyres

going solely by last years times he would,. and his race pace would have been the best out there !
