Thanks brother, be well!..

I think the contract for 4-stroke 990cc was for 5 years and then they were going to review it to see if they extend it or not. The same thing is going to happen to the 800cc's they are in a five-year contract to see how they run and then we will see their fate.

The 990cc fate was to be downsized to 800cc so it is not an evil plan by Honda to win again, this is how it was supposed to be from the start. Knowing this they played their cards to be very well prepared for the change. Pedros moving up just in time, the R&D that has been done for the past year or two.

Do not forget a majority of the council of manufacturer's representatives (not sure of the name of them) voted for this to happen, it was not just Honda decided to do this now and it happened.

I hope that helps clear your fumes out of your head. I will not be surprised at all to see a Honda at the front again once the 800cc rule starts and Rossi leaves.

To be honest with you, the Hondas are already at the front, it is just Rossi's non-Honda that and Edwards pops up every once in awhile. Most of the Hondas are in the top 10.

I stand corrected!! thank you...Sometimes I drink a little{at home if im not rideing} I was under the impresion that the other company's didnt want this...I was also under the impresion that honda did some sleazy moves to get this reduction...But You sound very confident adout this...I will try to believe you... I still loathe honda....I guess I like to support the underdog-not the top-cat....If you are a john Hopkins fan-then I am sure you can relate!....Later brother, thanks for the chat, Ive got to go get another bottle of tequila!!

Safe but very fast to you and everyone else--later

The MSMA (Manufacturers association) controls the technical rules (not DORNA).
The MSMA members are Honda,Yamaha, Kawasaki, Suzuki, Ducati, Aprilia.

Only Ducati voted against the 800cc rule.

Thank you brother, if its all legit like you say then thats alright I guess.....I just cant let it go that it really does seem to benefit honda disproportionately...I am not a conspiracy therist by any means....But honda lobbyed hardcore for this, they benefit the most by far....I want to believe you, but i worry that there is dirt in the milk...Lets just hope that i am wrong...I am really glad that you gave me a new possibility to contemplate...As usual time will let it all play out..We will all be watching as it unfolds!!....Thats racing, isnt it? We all love it dont we!!! Yes we love it, we love it all!!....

Nascar sucks ...- this is real motorsports, ......Later

Don`t want to douse anyone`s fire here, but Honda and others have to balance their success(or not) with the future of the sport and they have to keep in kinda accordance with the other major teams....it`s probably not as one way as you or I think.

No problem, MV. Anything to help a fellow MotoGP fanatic. It helped clarify some doubts I had too.

Thank you teomolca for reminding me the name of the group MSMA. They are the ones that voted in favor of it. Like you said, teomolca, Ducati is the only one that voted against it.

The funny thing I find about it that KTM voted for the rule change and they cited the rule change as a reason for them leaving MotoGP. Weeeeeeird.

I am a huge fan of Hopkins because I think he is the best American talent on the MotoGP grid. Yes, that means I think he is better than Hayden and Edwards and Roberts. If only he had a competitive bike then Hopkins would be a champion and showing Hayden the back of his rear wheel as he keeps it stateside and slides it around the corner.

Evening hopper, hope your well...
Yes of course ducati was not happy.....A classic example of the haves and have-nots--A fatastic cautinary tale-the power that wealth affords you.....But of course the vulnerbilety[spelling?}of the poor.....Money affords freedom...Right honda?.....[just kidding, Ill let it go-I promise!]

Incidentely, what i love most about your Hopps is that this guy is HARD!!! This man has a relationship with physical pain that is that is bordering on legend!! I am sure there are lots of us out there who have had a certain amount of pain in our lives, physical, emotional-whatever..We should all take a bit of inspiration from john when the gods are not working in our favor, I know I do.....And yes, I am sure that by now the whole board is aware that I am drinking again....
