Rossi making moves against Jarvis

So if I read that rough translation correctly. He wants to replace jarvis with william favero a puppet he can be the master of. So it would seems that jarvis has suddenly started to grow a pair of balls against the cancer. yamaha is ......! It happened the day they signed rossi. They should have taken the games he was playing with HRC seriously back in 03.

I've said several times on this forum....I think the plan for Rossi's VR46 organization has been to take over and for Rossi himself to run the Yamaha factory team not a satellite one....if that article is true then maybe these are first moves toward that goal....

Keep in mind Rossi has a sense of GP history, and he wants to match or break any record he can....his riding days are nearly over so he has to look toward the next of his life in GPs and records books.....that has to be in my view as a team manager and winning titles like King Kenny (Factory Yamaha team manager)...but try to win more titles than KRSR as team manager.....

I agree. I think running a satellite team is not much of an ambition for someone with Valentino’s pedigree, and Ago as well as KRSR once ran the Yamaha factory team. Beating Ago for titles as a team manager might be a more realisable ambition than matching Ago’s 8 premier class titles as a rider at this point in time.

If that's his plan. It will be great to be cheering on Honda, Ducati & Suzuki over the next 10 years as they kick is .... Seeing that yamaha has no back bone whatsoever, one could see this happening.

The number of good riders in or having been associated to the the VR46 organization is high, and if Rossi gets to run the factory Yamaha team then dont be surprised if several of those former and upcoming VR46 academy riders can make it work for them....First it will Morbidelli then Bagnaia

Honda may have some good riders that were associated to their bike but not to the extent they used to have when we ran 2strokes in the lower classes....I really think they missed a bit opportunity by not signing Mir or by not keeping Miller....beyond that Honda has maybe Martin coming up but he may be lost to them as well since he's now signed to KTM....Honda depth drops off a cliff if MM leaves for Ducati or KTM in 2 years.....JLo and Cal are not a long term solution to their problems going forward...

Suzuki and Ducati are just pinching whatever riders they can get at the moment....they have hope someone wants to ride for them badly enough to sign for little money (suzuki) or a satellite team for a time (ducati).....that might work so long as the bikes keep winning more than going backward in races....

KTM I think is in a better position since they are developing since they have direct association and development of riders from moto3 to moto2 to MotoGP....You can already see some level of loyalty in those tiers with Binder and Olivera...and with Tech3 joining their ranks at Moto2 and MotoGP levels they have a lot more options for riders to be brought up with them....

In short, loyalty and opportunity along with depth of field in my view will serve VR46 factory Yamaha team, if it happens, more than it will for Honda, Suzuki and Ducati.....I look forward to being wrong.... :)

Too bad none of them from the 46 group will ever be able to achieve Marc level. Power corrupts; absolute power corrupts absolutely. It's happening as of this moment in that factory yamaha team. Don't see any changes as time progresses, especially if this bit of news is true. Corruptions is indeed a bad thing.........

That is all very well, but the problem is that MM is only 25, and super motivated to continue eclipsing Valentino. If he moves to Ducati it will be to continue doing this; I am fairly confident he could have won the title on last year’s Ducati and quite likely on the current Ducati. Since the chances of MM signing with a VR managed team are slim and none imo, VR is going to require considerable patience while he awaits success as a team manager, again imo.

I agree but 10 years is a long time for a rider pushing at the very top of the game....and not getting seriously hurt and not having another rider come along to beat them....

Has any rider, other than maybe Ago, gone to completely dominating the sport for 15 years or more?

In the big capacity classes no, only other one is Nieto on the little bikes.

Sure, injury is always a risk, particularly the way MM rides, although he mostly gently low sides these days, but otherwise I could see another 5 years of dominance from him, and none of the riders currently in the pipeline in my view look like generational talents who might be able to trouble him. It could be a long time between drinks for Yamaha and even longer for Valentino.

He needs 4 titles as a manager to best Ago, and the same number would make them equal for combined premier class titles as a rider or manager. As long as he contemplates a 20 Year career as a manager he can easily do it, but I wouldn’t count on 10 years being sufficient were I Valentino.

No problem with Valentino ousting Jarvis btw if this occurs, Jarvis has always been a politician himself, and the Yamaha satellite team situation this year has been a debacle.

I agree with all three of your points.

I am curious to see how much things will change with the standarized IMU from next year. Those low side he saves are just done with the knees and elbows, the information from the HRC sensors to the HRC IMU to the standard ECU helps MM out. The standard IMU going forward probably wont be as sophisticated as HRCs so this impact MM's riding at the edge for a short while at least....
