Rossi fans in deep pain

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (ToniElias @ May 21 2007, 05:14 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>So you admit he did. Nice.
But he isn't showing it this year. And I am amazed a guy who goes to another team to proof the bike doesn't matter, suddenly starts complaining about Stoners bike or his Michelin tyres and so on. He even said last year he thought he was unbeatable. Can you imagine ? At least I want to see him being gracious and hear him say Stoner is just riding better than him.
I think you're missing the point here mate, Rossi is all about mind games. Deep down, he probably knows Stoner is better than him, but to publicly say he is and bolster Stoner's confidence, would that be such a smart thing?

I'm all for sportsmanship but sometimes you have to be cunning, too.

'better rider on the field' ? you wouldnt be talking about Casey Stoner would you? thought not, well hope not! by the way, stay cool aswell sweetheart

I'm not in pain boy...well...only from my slipped disc...

Know better than to take people like you seriously

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (roz @ May 21 2007, 05:16 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>Watched Rossi since his 125 days and has been his ardent fan since. Comparing the way he rode in the wet at Donington 2001 and Le Mans 2007, I feel the greatest rider the world has ever seen is on a steep decline. He seems to lose it all, more than just grip on that wet tarmac but his once unshakeable confidence. To watch Stoner, Pedrosa, Hayden and Alex Hoffman passed him by, was the most painful feeling as long as I could remember since following motogp way back in 1991. Rossi, I feel, has lost it all. He should take the Ferrari F1 challenge last year and bid goodbye to Motogp at the top of his game. Last year, though losing it to Hayden, was one of his best ever performance. The victories at Sacchenring, Mugello and Sepang were sensational to say the least. In short, Rossi is over, just like Ali in 1979. Motogp will never be the same without Rossi that we knew before. The current batch of riders are not in the same class. Goodbye Doc and bring on 2008. Hail Jorge Lorenzo! He might be the new Rossi, just like Rossi after Doohan and Doohan after Rainey............

There heavy words to say 5 races into a season. Valentino has had problems before + overcome them + its people like you who jump on bandwagons- like him when hes winning then view him as on a "steep decline" when he isnt.

If I was Rossi I would take some steps back and compete in 125 cc. Maybe there he can start winning again. It would be great for his self esteem.

Anyway, your mom still looks great. And Rossi is still ready for 125 cc

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Burky @ May 23 2007, 12:42 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>I'm English, I have a wierd sense of humour so I've been struggling with TE, but I've stuck with it!
TE,.........how you doing? I've been keeping a quiet eye on posts recently, hard to get a word in edgeways!

You're a bit harsh, but life was never meant to be easy! You've upset plenty of people, but they've left themselves open to it. I'm amused to see how your posts have pushed through the boundaries of moderation, and maybe in future we can have serious Moto GP discussions without every post being turned into a Rossi defence case.

Personally, and as I've said before and got into hatred arguements, I feel Vale is past his best. I certainly don't hate the guy, I have massive admiration for him and he has been the man of the decade.
No man is bigger than the sport itself. My feeling is that last year Vale took liberties. He took advantage of his position, and lost focus mid season by testing Ferrari F1 cars. It could be said that he not only lost focus, but he was used by F1, to bring media attention to F1. I feel he got caught up in his own media hype, and that became the most important factor. You surely cannot lose focus in the world arena?
Pre arranged victory celebrations also seemed to become a vital part of the Rossi circus. It was these celebrations which have made me want a change of World Champion. I'd still like to imagine them 7 dwarfs trudging back to the woods!!!

Now Vale is getting beaten, not occassionally by different riders, but regularly by the same guy, he appears to be pushing too hard under the pressure. He obviously doesn't like getting beat, none of us do, but is he putting too much pressure on himself?

Maybe things will turn around for him this season, but I also now feel that he has lost his aura of invincibility in many other riders' eyes. They know he can be beaten, they know 'he knows' he can be beaten, so what do you know, he's being beaten!!!! Other riders' are more prepared to 'rough him up' it seems to me.

Many sports heroes have reigned supreme, then maybe when they feel invincible and then get 'hurt', they crumble under the confusion. Mike Tyson is one that springs to mind! The harder they try, the worse it gets.

Things change, I hope the ardent Rossi fans stay with Moto GP when he decides to call it a day.

And as for you Toni Elias, you can come to my house and drink my beer until my wife look not too bad!
Finally you speak. What's up man? I was worried about you. Anyway, great post as usual. It takes a bit of leather skin to carry on here, but I'm good for it.
