Road Atlanta Weekend

Friday was mostly dedicated to the ride to the track.We plotted a course that let us do almost the whole trip in the mountain twisties.Had a blast.Got to the track around 3pm and watched some provisional qualifying and caught wind of a Yamaha Team autograph session at a local bike shop after the track closed.One of the guys with us is a huge Boz Brothers fan so we had to go.It turned out to be a great time.The store had catered in steak and chicken and they were having a Dyno War.The free dinner allowed an extra T-Shirt Purchase at the track plus my buddy not only got his favorute guys sigs,they posed for pics with him which made his day.The racing was fairly predictable,especially in Superbike.Spies wrecked in the first race which brought out the red flag,and on a busted up bike he started last and still finished 2nd,keeping his title hopes alive.The SuperSport race was a different story.4 riders in lock step from start to finish.One of them was Martin Cardenas,a fill in rider for Barnes on the Suzuki,this guy is quickly making a name for himself.Someone will sign him for a factory ride soon.The weather looked like rain all weekend but we somehow avoided it.All in all,a great trip except one of the guys riding with us on an R1 caught a a small rock to the radiator and put a punture in it on the ride down Friday.He turned around and went home and showed up later on his dual sport.

Update

It appears Cardenas has signed to ride with the EMGO Suzuki Team next year in FX and Supersport.Thats taking advantage of the opportunity that arose.Good for him
