I'll be watching the races this weekend. Road America is a pretty cool track. I'll be pulling for Zemke and Eslick, but mostly I just want to watch some good racing. The AMA has been pretty good so far this year.

I like how they have ...(all on Dnlop tires). Do they have a choice of tires?? I thought it was a spec supplied tire for the series.

Kinda like when Bridgestone anounced their 50th MotoGP win (since they are the only tire out there, I would hope they are getting the wins...one right after the other)

I am pulling for Hayes, Bostrom, and Zemke to have a good showing in superbike.

and Herrin and Rapp in the smaller class.

One question...How or Why does Melissa Paris get to run a bike for the Miller WSBK SS race the last 2 years?? Why wouldn't Herrin or Aquino pilot the Yamaha as a wildcard over her?? She is ok in the DMG series and a better racer than I will ever be, but she does not do well at bigger races. Both WSBK rounds she was way back and crashed out, Daytona she crashed out (I think in 10th or so place). So why is she getting world level racing chances?

Because she is female. (did u really need to ask?)

Yeah, Lenny is seriously struggling. Hes never seen the track but still i think hes better or at least par with Fernando Amantini.

i'll be watching of course.... as always... come hell high water or dmg!

I'm not surprised that MPH was able to find a ride for two consecutive years; however, I'm pretty upset that Yamaha USA didn't unleash the hounds at Miller. Crutchlow is the defending WSS world champ, and Yamaha US arguably has 3 of the best 600cc riders on earth in Ben Bostrom, Josh Hayes, and Josh Herrin. I know they all have AMA championships to consider, but one of the best things for the AMA is to continue boosting people into WSBK events to show that we still have some amazing riders.

And, yes, I do care about AMA SBK, I simply got so swept up in Mugello (one of my favorite events on earth) and I forgot about Road America (probably my least favorite AMA round). No offense, Austin, not insulting your neck of the woods.

Honestly,no! If im not doing anything Saturday night or Sunday night, i may watch, but that is about the extent of my interest in The Premier Racing Series in North America., The best thing DMG could do at this point is pay Speed to hire a couple of British announcers. Having a .... series with .... announcers is a bad combo. Even the WSBK race last Sunday was not inspiring because of the .... announcers we had to listen to

Because she is female. (did u really need to ask?)

This year they arlready had a female rider on the grid full time....and she has been scoring points. I don't think "because she is female" is the entire reason. If she was "Danica Patrick" famous, they could use that to help promote the event, but she is unheard of by the masses.

^^^ Man, both races down to the wire...surprised the draft did not produce the guy in tow getting the win. another 20 feet and it would have gone the other way for each race!!

Very impressed buy Steve Rapp and the Ducati that small team has put together!!!

Looks like I picked it going with Hayes, Heriin and Rapp!!

Damn, Hayden almost with the win in the 1st race. DSB was a very exciting race to watch was pulling for the old dude Rapp but he got nipped at the line.

...yea Jum's I care.

well looks like Hayden rode a bit stronger and Hayes last corner mistake turned the tables for race 2!!

Some great racing in the AMA today, hell it's been good all year.

AMA SBK has a lot of guys capable of running at the front and winning, but right now the championship favorites have to be Hayes and Hayden. Those two produced some great races this weekend. Great job by both Hayes and Hayden, swapping wins and giving us two exciting races up to the last corner. Hayden was really impressive, I thought for sure Hayes would be untouchable all weekend, but Tommy managed to stick with him both races and pull off a win as well. Zemke, solid results but I have a feeling he's going to keep slipping to Hayes and Hayden. Pegram was no where near his performance last year when he straight up beat Mladin. I swear Blake Young is the Fabrizio of the AMA, he looked so loose and a bit out of control with running wide a few times in an desperate effort to catch back up to the front.

DSB I'm going to have to go on the record and say that it is presently the most exciting racing I have been watching this year. Normally the 250's (now gone), 125's or WSS is the ...., but this year, DSB has provided some great entertainment. Eslick must of been having some issues this weekend, we didn't see his usual aggressive self. In race 1 he wasn't even there, and in race 2 he dropped off. PJ Jacobson, had some great results for a rookie, hope to see him gain more experience and confidence and add to the mix up front. Good win for Cardenas, no crashing and some clean riding. Josh Herrin, is the Tony Elias of the AMA, hanging off the side of the bike, backing it into the corners. It was great watching him race today. I'm starting to like the guy, we're seeing a real smart calculating racer more then the hang it all out there kid of his past. This could be his year.

With the way the AMA has been this year I am quickly forgetting all the drama and ........ of last years DMG ran series. The focus is back on the racing where it should be. Looking forward to the next round.

^^^ They (Speed commentators) said Eslick had pulled a hamsting....don't know how he did it, but I guess that could have been a factor.

Road America is one of my favorite US tracks and thought I heard or saw a rumor they might host a WSBK round next year? If true, how much work will they have to do to make it ready for a WSBK round?

edit

just found the link about WSBK on SOUP

I like Road America, reminds me of Brands Hatch and a little of Monza. Seems like the rumor stems from just Josh Hayes being excited about the place. I think the main reason they go to Miller is it was recently built and therefore up to the current safety and facility standards that the FIM expect for a WSBK round. The main thing holding back Road America is the track would have to be seriously refitted. I'd like to see an East Coast round for WSBK, but where? Most of the east coast tracks would also have to be refitted for WSBK standards.

Man, it it were Virginia International Raceway, I wouldn't know how to act, that track is 45 minutes from my house. As you said though, an old track that would take tons of cash to make FIM raceable. Even though VIR is up the road from my house, something about Elkhard Lake makes it special, maybe like you mentioned the European feel of it, seeing the guys blasting thru trees heading into Canada corner, that's good stuff.
