<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE <div class='quotemain'>Both of Shane 'Shakey' Byrne's Rizla Suzuki GSX-R1000 K6 race bikes were stolen last night [Tuesday] from a locked garage at the Croft circuit in North Yorkshire – with the team offering a £10,000 reward for their safe return.

The bikes were garaged in preparation for the start of the official MCRCB two day test at the Yorkshire circuit, which was due to start on this morning [Wed]. The team left the circuit at around 20:00 on Tuesday evening and returned at 08:00 this morning to find the garage door open and the two bikes missing along with parts and accessories. Airwaves Ducati and Redbull Honda also had parts stolen last night – with the police and circuit security called to the scene and an investigation now underway.

"The priority now is to try and recover these stolen bikes," Rizla Suzuki team manager Robert Wicks said. "They are two very distinctive Rizla Suzuki race bikes littered with hand-made parts and marked accessories that are useless to anyone bar a Superbike race team. Even if the bikes are broken down the parts will remain identifiable and we will do everything within our power to trace them.

"We are giving our full co-operation to the police to find these bikes and bring the thieves to justice. The team is offering a reward of £10,000 to anyone who can help the police with their investigation that leads to the bikes being recovered and the thieves successfully prosecuted. Anyone with any information or suspicion should contact 01202-820170. Alternatively they can call the police direct."

The theft of the bikes scuppers the two day test for Shakey and the team.

"Shakey's bikes were tailored to suit him with one-off fitments and hand-built engines that took months to complete," Wicks explained. "To replace these will be immensely difficult, it sets us and Shakey back a long way.

"The thieves who have stolen these bikes are not fans of the sport or friends to motorcycling in any way, they are simply thieves. I urge anyone with information to come forward and expose these thieves for the good of the team, Shakey and the legions of BSB and race fans in this country."

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of the stolen bikes is urged to call Darlington Police on 0845 6060365 or Rizla Suzuki direct on 01202 820170 or to e-mail [email protected]. Any information supplied in confidence will remain in confidence.

The hard working Rizla team are now doing what they can to get Shakey and Brendan Roberts out on track so that their trip to Croft isn't wasted. Despite the huge set back of losing two machines, it is business as usual.

That's a ugly situation for suzuki...

Not good news for Croft either, that demonstrates a big lack of security. Might put teams off testing there in the future.

Them bikes will turn up somewhere, they`ll be a tip off because the prick or pricks who stole them simply can`t do anything with `em.LOWLIFE SCUM-let them spend a day with me,I won`t scar them TOO much.

Geez, HRC are sinking to even lower levers these days....

But seriously, I am of the opinion that all theives are stupid. I mean, IF IT`S NOT YOURS, DON`T FCKING TOUCH IT! How damn hard is it? Honestly Get a ....... life. Especially stealing somthing like race bikes. no amount of Insurance money can make up for a lost championship to a racer. I`m all for handing 'em over to Drill (You still got a rotwhieler, mate?)
I dunno what these ....... punks were thinking. Youre gonna sell Shakeys ....... bike on Ebay? Or give it a paint job, change the frame ID number and put it in the classifieds? For ..... sake criminals are stupid. And that`s exactly why theyre gonna get caught. Just by being stupid enough to steal the bikes they`ve shown they theyre too stupid to keep them.

Crash was reporting that the bikes were found buried in manure. My guess is the thieves realized it wasn't worth trying to part them out or sell them....so they pussied out....losers

sorry doc, I thought you were joking when you said they were in a pile of .....

What about the tools and stuff? They might not be able to do anytihing with the bikes but the other stuff they might be able to flog off. I guess that sorta stuff can be replaced though. So a lot of scrubbing will be going on in the Crescent pit now then. And a lot of air freshner.... They should catch the .......s and make em lick Shakey`s bike clean

Clearly it was someone who knew nothing about bikes, I mean, every garage had Ducati's, Yamaha's, Kawasaki's in them...... and they steal Suzuki's?!?!

But they ain`t just Suzuki`s, these are BSB-Spec Crescent Suzuki GSX-R1000K6 Superbikes. These things are horn.

And Yamaha and Kawasaki test on scooters do they?

Just because its got tens of numbers/letters in it, doesn't make it any better

Obviously these no-talent-...-clowns weren't the brightest lights in the harbor if you know what I mean.....I actually like Richo's idea of making them lick the bike clean.....

If it were me I would have gone for the Red Bull Hondas or Airwaves Ducatis. Some shmuck like me won't be able to notice a difference in performance from a BSB spec Red Bull Honda to an HM Plant Honda to an Airwaves Ducati to a Rizla Suzuki. I just want the purdy lookin' ones.

i think its abit ...... that the bikes were taken and then covered in ...., bang out of order. Some one i no got the leathers, helmet and boots taken from in the awing. Me m8 rides in da 125cc and he said croft is like that every year but on a race weekend not so much on a test day, its because its at back of knowhere so they would be no-one on the roads at the time they took they it was easy for them to get to how ever far they did and they dump them when they realize they can't do anything with them. The other rizla bike from found in a bush lend on a barn.
