Which of the two Suzuki riders do you think is better?

Rins is 8th with 148 points at present and Mir is 15th with 77 points.

Rins is obviously 2020 world champion and is getting the Repsol Honda next season while Rins gets an LCR Honda.

But who do you think is the better rider?

The stats, according to Wikipedia, are as follows:

Rins
98 starts
4 wins
16 podiums
0 poles
6 fastest laps
819 points
8.36 points per race average
0 world titles

Mir
64 starts
1 win
13 podiums
0 poles
1 fastest lap
548 points
8.56 ppr
1 MotoGP title
1 Moto3 title

Well, Mir has 2 titles but when Rins is on his game he is great. Problem with Rins is he crashes...or used to....a lot.

I think it’s very close between them. Rins has more wins, but has binned it a lot more as you say. Mir has two titles, which you can’t argue with. I would say Mir is the smarter rider and Rins pushes it over the limit more often. Will be interesting to see how they each adapt to the Honda. Morbidelli is lucky that he has a contract for next year, because Yamaha would surely prefer either of these right now.

Mir. MotoGP Champ 2020, 3rd 2021 and Moto3 champ 2017.

Rins do have more podiums and wins. But far from consistent.

Rins tends to fall off more in pursuit of that pace. Mir is a more intelligent rider I would say. There really isn’t much between them, but Mir has the two titles.

Sure. It will be interesting to see which approach is better next year riding Hondas.

Rins!

For starters he has won more races than Mir. Mir doesn’t seem to do much with full factory support, so I don’t think it’s going to help him much next year.

Here’s how it’s going to go next year in the Honda box for Mir: “oh, it’s you again, what do you want now”….

They are much of a muchness. Mir does the multiple titles, I think Rins has more speed overall.

Mir seems methodical, just doesn't make the progress.

Rins will beat him easily next season on the Honda.
