Riding Style - Which riders' style do you prefer?

If riding style means 'late breaking' I'd say Rossi.

If it's sticking out the neck in turns Tamada used to be great when on Bridgestones and now Eduards does it quite a lot too.

If it's leaning angle, I've heard other riders mentioning Capirossi, although I must say I think of him more like tucked tightly for aerodynamics.

If it's spinning the rear tyre, I’ve seen lots do great stuff. From last turn at Phillip Island ’06 Melandri send a Peace & Love sign making a one handed smoking awesome spin. Rossi’s got some great ones too.

About Elias, seems to me a funny style, there’s and article that crack me up about this in www.motogpnews.com that mentions:

“His 'ape hanging off a branch reaching for a far off banana' cornering style is visually pleasing as his 100% effort at all times. Add to that the fact he can't seem to ride in a straight line and blows hot and cold and you have a truly special and unpredictable rider. We at MGPN love him. Jerez was a great race for Fat Toni. After a poor start he charged through the field with all the grace of a bull fight in a Japanese tea room. Now when most riders catch an opponent they spend a few corners or laps working out the best place to make an overtaking maneuver. Not Elias. The very second he caught up to a rider he'd have a crack at passing and, nine times out ten, fail and run wide. But through his determination, genuine speed and knowing the odds would eventually favor him he crashed his way up through the pack to fourth. A better start would surely have seen his chorizo on the podium”…

That was funny.

Anyway, most of them have a great style, after all if we could just do any as good as they do we could have a shot at riding a GP bike, wouldn’t we?

I like Toni Elias's hang off the side for dear life style. Although it's not the best for getting heat in the rear tire, I think it's the most entertaining to watch and appreciate.. He acknowledges it's more of a problem than a benifit, but he's unable to change after 16 years of doing what feels comfortable.

And since I can't only choose one, I'm going to say Colin Edwards has my second nomination. Although he doesn't look that aggressive when he pilots the machine, his graceful style of riding the bike reminds me of a swan flying, with his head and neck extended far out from the bike.

BTW we all know rossi has the best and most functional style, that goes without being said.... Hence try not to jock him too hard and give some other riders some thunder!

Elias - "I'm coming out of the corner sideways and so fast"
Pedrosa - "I'm me"
Hayden - "Title.. must gain title"
Rossi - "I'm going to beat you"
Stoner - "I'm off" (Away down the straight I mean.. not falling. Take it either way..)
Edwards - "I want my podium"
Roberts Jr - "Yay"
Capirossi - "Damn these straights are quick"
Melandri - "I'll play tactically"
Vermuelen - "I need rain"
Hopkins - "I do well when I'm injured"
Barros - "I'm going no where on this D'Antin"
Hofmann - "I'll try on this bike.."
de Puniet - "I'm a great qualifier"
Jacque - "I can ride a Kawasaki"
Guintoli - "Je suis Sylvain.. (aka not much of him seen)
Tamada - "I can do well when I want to.."

Probably not their style, but I'm bored.

I think Elias and Stoner have good styles personally.

Hopper for me .
McCoy was great to watch

Rossi is in a class by himself. Ben spies is fun to watch, especially considering the fact that he is coached by none other than Kevin Schwantz himself. He may just be too big for the diminutive Motogp bikes. Noriyuki Haga is fun to watch because you never know what will happen. Hopper is great fun to watch, until he crashes.

Melandri's slide: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1PkW2zOO010&eurl

Nicky's back it in and square it off style is good to watch. I found that riding the front very hard gives a lot more corner speed and lower lap times from my own track day expreience. I do find that backing it in helps to intimidate some of the less experienced riders. Simply back it in a couple of times and when you come past next time they part like the red sea

. Although I did get a ban threat from the lads at Jennings GP in north Florida. Oh well! I guess my bullying style is not appreciated.

I love Jorge's style especially when he was on a Derbi or his first year on the 250... I love it when he stuffs it to Pedrosa... fearless.. I can't wait for him to try it with the big boys.. especially Rossi...
<
But ever since he went to Kenny school... and no competition, his style isn't showing.

not as if you get to see elias style that often, once as i remember,as for dani, what style, neat and tidy then run wide just like biaggi.

I always thought Colin looked like the poster child for motorcycle riding. Tall lanky dudes always look the part!

used to be Nicky but I haven't seen his style since Laguna 2005 so right now its Elias by leaps and bounds.

I really don't like Doohan's riding style at all.............but I know that's exactly how I ride too
