That's fair enough, I know a few people like that, a bloke who used to be a road racing fanatic hasn't watched a road race since Joey died, I know another who hasn't watched one since DJ died and I'm aware of people turning their backs on boxing following tragedies in the ring(I've personally dialed down my own interest in boxing though that's purely down to the politics of the sport but that's another story) but none of you protest the sport like some people do. There's plenty of things I'd ban before boxing or road racing popped up on the list.

Perhaps its my age that I can afford to wonder what those who die young "doing what they love", would say if they were ninety. What seemed of such importance back when you were young is a mere memory to smile about in later life.
I know now that when I stopped racing I was probably quite depressed, though I thought I was just too busy doing the hard things needed to get a profession. Racing was just pure fun for me, like a dog chasing a ball. And I always told myself I would get back into it but never really did. I even tell myself I would love to get back on a speedway bike fo a bit of fun.
But I look back on it now as an essential part of making me ....... not essentially me as it seemed back when in the midst of it.
I suppose its a bit of a luxury really being able to look back. Thats the thing you feel sad for .... that they will never have that luxury.

Povol, Barry Machine, Little Walter, Theo, and Michael M will do anything to back up their buddy Keshav, no matter what horrible things he says.
The forum consists mostly of callous, racist and indecent posters that would step over a pregnant woman lying face down and bleeding on the sidewalk

I haven't got a clue what you're going on about, the issue is you came into this thread and spewed a load of .... about a deceased rider who is regarded throughout the motorcycle racing world as one of the smoothest and safest riders there is and an absolute gentleman who nobody has had a bad word to say about.
He was attempting irony, difficult and hence unsuccessful with his IQ, trying to draw a parallel/attempting to parody a comment Keshav supposedly made about Simoncelli at a time after Simoncelll’s death, in the process exploiting the tragic death of another rider for the purpose of petty malice/prosecuting his own agenda, without the insight to realise he was one upping anything of which Keshav may have been guilty.
As I said earlier in the thread, while I understand why the guys do it and that it is their own choice, I can’t come at road racing as a spectator sport, it is just too dangerous, like late 60s/70s F1, although like everyone else I have every sympathy for the rider and his family.
