In moto speak? Yes
What was the incident? Don't have access to watch quali.
In moto speak? Yes
well it's abit early to speculate on the entire season continuing in this direction. he's kinda startin like toseland did in his rookie season... great 1st race at qatar then the wheels kinda fell of the cart.... unlike the tose i think ben will overcome these problems...... eventually................................
Well first of all Hayden is looking good for being on an improved but still .... bike.
..........................
I didn't see the incident even though I watched the whole australian TV coverage; the dorna video coverage keeps breaking up here. I did see him not perturbed earlier in the day when baulked . How slowly was espargaro going and was he right on the racing line?.
I actually don't mind pedrosa. Not so keen on puig, although I am grateful for what he did for stoner and understand he has done a lot for other young riders.
Slow riders on the racing line?Go to youtube or google video and punch in Reinhold Roth ,Yugoslavian GP, 1990.This is the consequence of not paying attention..................just my two pennyworth.
If Ducati is a ..... bike, it logically follows that Espargaro, who is doing better on a satellite Ducati than three previous 250cc world champions on Hondas, is the next Hailwood? Seriously -- maybe he is, who knows
I watched the dorna coverage of quali with absolutely no issues. I'm in Boonah Qld, which is hardly the big city, and get about 4Meg on my line. Where are you, Michael?
As an aside, I'm back off to the UK for work on Wednesday, so will probably disappear for a while until I get a rental place and the internet connected. At least it's summer over there I suppose!
Stylie's next avatar?
The bike is obviously better overall. Like other stoner fans though I fear it has lost the element that stoner could uniquely exploit, and may not be a rossi beating bike in anyone's hands including stoner's. I rather liked the apparent purity of the ducati approach to the 2007 bike, which seemed to be to build a bike which might be capable of beating valentino, however radical; even then I don't think they planned to build a bike that only one rider could ride and in particular that only stoner could ride.
Espargaro might be pretty good, if not mike hailwood good; he hung with hayden for quite a while in practice.
Probably my old computer and lack of updates then; I am not good at this new-fangled computer stuff. I saw a complaint elsewhere of similar issues from someone using firefox as I do though.
Original point was Ducs aren't as bad as Suz! Which in my opinion clearly are better!
Sure, and I don't think I have disagreed with you on this point in this thread. You are quite possibly also right that stoner hasn't adapted to the GP10, he certainly doesn't look to have the rhythm that he had on the gp07, on the gp08 on good week-ends, or even the gp09 at the end of last season. If nicky developed the bike it is not surprising that it suits him though; I would imagine that it is hard to develop a bike any other way. I have no complaint about this either; although I don't like marlboro or their marketing guy casey's return was in doubt and the reputation of the bike was deterring prospective future riders.
I would say Stoner is about on par compared with previous seasons. He was dominating in Qatar and no one was going to catch him and Jerez and Le Mans have never been his best tracks.
He crashed at qatar though (in practice as well) which he didn't look like doing in the races the previous 3 years; I too am hoping it was an aberration.
I'd be thinking the Duc. may well be more user friendly for the general populous, unfortunately for Stoner it was what gave him the edge. The screamer was a faster machine however it had to be ridden on the edge. Thats possibly why folk said the Duc. and Stoner are suited.
But I'd go further to say that it is the effect of grip balance due to the change in power that does not now suit Stoner. He seems a rider who lets the back float around, thus grip emphasis is on the front. Now with the rear gripping so much the balancehas shifted and the front is now looser than he likes. Certainly have seen less of those slides and backing in manouveurs that appeared to be his trademark.
I'd be getting him back on a screamer quick smart. It has nothing to do with weight distribution but the effect of changing the grip at the back and its corresponding effect on the front.
