Martin topped FP2 also, but had a crash after setting his fast time. Bold go directly to Q2.

One of Martin's front fork wings came off and hit Marquez in the shoulder.

Anyway going back to business, the top 16, SIXTEEN, were separated by less than half a second. That's crazy.

I read Fabio said he is very happy about the alternative tire. Does anyone have any info on this tire? Does it have black fingernail polish and listen to Nirvana?

It has a harder carcass on the rear tire, the same specification used in Austria, India and Indonesia. Sounds like it hinders other teams more than it helps Yamaha. I expect a harder carcass makes it harder to get power down. Also worth noting that the last 2 GP's that Michelin have used this tyre, Fabio has finished on the podium.

Interesting. Isn't one of the issues with the yamaha is getting the power down? I thought he said the tire has been spinning like crazy while accelerating. I am just glad he has been happier. Lots of talk about honda's problems but it would be great to see yamaha get the bike sorted before they lose Fabs.

I'm under the same impression regarding getting power down, but if it hampers other teams more, it lessens the Yams weakness if that makes sense.

Silly season 2025 will be interesting with everyone except Binder out of contract.

Ban wings. Interesting times. Aprilia thriving in the hot weather again. Bagnaia off to another slow start. KTM meh.

Despite Martin's unforced errors, the championship fight is still center stage. Not sure if the factory Ducati squad have failed to adapt as fast as the other teams or if the tracks are requiring tires that don't suit the factory machine and setup window? I guess we'll find out what happens on Sat and Sunday.

Nice recovery by Fabio to get into Q2. A bit sad he's been overlooked in the game of musical chairs, but Yamaha probably can't afford to loan him to another team for a season.

Jorge with another pole, followed by Luca and Aleix. Pecco will be 6th on the grid, his qualifying form has taken a hit as of late but he really seems to be banking everything on the race nowadays, let's see if it pays off for another week. I expect Jorge to dominate the sprint.
