Barry Sheene once saved a riders life at the side of the track with emergency first aid.Name the stricken rider.
<

Back in the 60s, this rider pioneered a riding style that (then) looked eccentric.

Today it looks very normal
<

Can you name the rider?

Damn ! As a kid I was Jarno Bopper, and just like them I thought I would recognise his arse anywhere, shame on me.

OK Paso, Hailwood or Carruthers?

The first one.

Hailwood never rode the Benelli 250 (and never rode that way), Kel never rode that way either.

Renzo Pasolini was the first rider to put his arse off the saddle and his knee down (without knee pads); the photo is from 1967, years before Kenny Roberts.

Gotta be quick, (I'm at work). I thought it might be John Cooper, who is also credited with the first rider to get his knee down, where most attribute this to KRsnr or Sarrinen

I confess to be ignorant about John Cooper's style. "Paso" was riding like that (documented by photos) already in 1966-67. He had been a motocross racer before, which was then taken as an explanation for his "dirty" style. Saarinen was younger than him, and later, in the early '70s, he is also is shown in photos with his knee almost touching the ground.. They both died together at Monza in 1973, so it was Kenny Roberts who was credited as the "inventor" of that style -- also because he was the first one to use self-made knee pads.

Times up!!!........it was Silverstone.

Change of tack here because I know it could spark a friendly debate...........ok,who would you accredit to doing the first stand up wheelie celebrations on the warm down lap. This question covers MotoGP and WSBK. Have fun !!
<

Here`s a clue........he`s a SBK retiree.Not giving any more away.
<

Well I would've gone for Troy Corser who became renowned for them, but he's not a retiree of course. Never saw Aaron Slight do anything like that. Chambon was very trick when it came to showboating, but I think he only did one season - 2001 as I recall...and it must've happened before then. Yanagawa probably did one unintentionally on the way to another accident. I dunno, Scott Russell?

Would never have thought of that. Now there was a major lunatic. Didn't he sustain some nasty head injuries in an accident - there was supposedly no long term damage, but to those that knew him as a racer both on and off the track, he was never the same...in fact he never raced again I think. I remember reading in Foggy's biog that he used to practice driving golf balls over the garages out of the paddock.
