DANI PEDROSA will race this weekend in the upcoming first round of the MotoGP championship.
The Spanish smurf has reportedly been given the all-clear to get back on the factory Repsol Honda this weekend in Qatar.
Apparently, the injuries to his broken left forearm (radius) that he suffered in a massive highside in Sepang during pre-season testing has repaired better than was originally hoped for. Pedrosa has now passed a medical inspection in Barcelona and is now about to fly to Qatar for this weekend.
Good news for Dorna. We can't lose anyone else off the depleted grid for this season, can we?
BRADLEY SMITH is quickest in Qatar during the final sessions of practice before qualifying gets underway proper for this weekend's first round of the MotoGP championship.
Although the Qatar track was coated in a fine layer of desert sand, Smith topped the timesheets on his Aprilia with a best of 2m 06.568, a second slower than the outright lap record set last year by Scott Redding (2m 05.695).
Bradley said: "The time is good, but the most important thing for us today is that we have improved. The track conditions have been improving through the sessions and we have worked mainly on the front suspension, and I believe that we have found the best way to get the bike working for the corners now.
"Here it is very important to get the bike turning well because the majority of the corners are long."
Second fastest was Julian Simon with 2m 07.042 while Sergio Gadea was third on 2m 07.843.
