More so in races. I think JLo is going to find it tough to be a metronome per his style. To me Dovi is always underrated. Each year he get better on this bike so until I see otherwise my chips are on him in that camp. Doesn't mean I don't think Jorge is a better rider but Dovi is good really good.

I like Dovi but I don't think he has that aggressive spirit to be a proper race winner. Okay, he has won two but you rarely see him consistently battle it out for the win. Maybe if he feels slighted by JLo coming, that might fire up a little anger but I do think his best days are behind him now.

He's like that chick that cant get a date. Everyone likes her but no one likes her likes her. I don't know, I think Dovi is a fighter man. He fought to be the third wheel at honda and he has done better than anyone other than the retired one at ducati over the years. He had some .... luck at the beginning of last season that if had not happened would have been in or near the top 3.

This season will be IMPOSSIBLE to predict.. There hasnt been this much competition ever in MotoGP. Rossi, JLO, Dovi, Crashquez, Crashlow, Torpedone, Pedro, Maverick; 8 riders who will fight for that title.

Don't get me wrong. I certainly think he's one of the better guys in the paddock and certainly has some skills. It's just maybe he's been a little hampered by a lack of ruthlessness or 'edge' in going for those 50/50 openings.

I would absolutely enjoy the moment were Lorenzo to 'pull the rabbit from the hat' and win this one, if for no other reason to watch the bug eyes on those that wish for (as opposed to predict) doom and gloom for the guy. But, sadly I cannot see him winning it but would not be surprised for top 5 (dry race), so here goes although being a night race one can only guess the temps.

Pedrosa (about time that he won the first of the year)
Marquez (in a dogfight with the top gun dude)
Vinales (he and Marky will play in a race of their own for supremacy and forget others allowing DP to slip on by)
Dovisioso (will continue his there or thereabouts)
Lorenzo (will bring it home and celebrate as if he won)

There are three possible spoilers in this with Rossi, Crutchlow and Folger all potentially able to upset the applecart.

Im with you on Pedro for no other reason than me flipping my 10 year vendetta against him. He hasn't earned his seat but it's clear that he's not going anywhere soon. I would like to see him upset everyone's expectations for the entire year.

Im not ready to jump on the Vinales band wagon until I see if he's capable of limiting his mistakes over race distance. Sure he's shown the speed, but last year he blew a lot of corners when pressured.

Agree on Vinales, he did blow some opportunities last year when under pressure ... Aragon comes to mind. Not sure if that was him having to over ride the bike to keep up with the others or him simply making mistakes under pressure. If his race pace is anything like his testing form then I think it will be a Marc VS Mav season ... but like everyone else has mentioned, the 2017 champion will be harder to pick than a broken nose.

It will go down as the best season ever.

Time cannot go by quickly enough. If only there were a way to fast forward the week away. Can't wait to see what unravels in the first race!

I predict a spaniard will win, an italian will be on the podium and a brit in top six.

My dream finish for the race would be for everyone to cross the finish line at the same time holding hands. They would have to give them all first place points and trophies. YAY!

You can forward time. Move to New Zealand. If you want to go backwards, wayyy backwards, go to Povols Tennessee.

This is a lot of hype. Yamaha still has two riders that can contend but most likely pretend. MV will most likely not be championship materiel his 1st year. Ducati will suck like they always do. Marquez will run away and Pedrosa will underachieve.
If anything, this year is a step back from last, because the only rider that has ever beat Marquez, has taken himself out of contention for the next few years

Yes there is a lot of hype indeed! I'm already at GMT +8 so I'd only make up a few hours by heading down under. :p

To be honest I'm not entirely sure why are so many people doubting MV. He seems to be really flying. And IIRC he hasn't even crashed once on the Yammie. Before this pre-season I never knew that there was a long rivalry between Marc and Mav. I have a feeling these 2 will dominate the championship for the years to come. Here's a nice article by Mat Oxley in case you guys missed it.

?Now we are together again at the top? Honestly, it?s strange!? | Motor Sport Magazine

Marc looks exactly like he does now, just half the size. :giggle:

I don't see any one of them backing down or cracking from this challenge. Looking forward to close battles and photo finishes this year!

And I'm also hoping that Marc and MV will be too engrossed in their own battle, and leave Rossi to do a Hayden. Would be great to see him take one more before he retires!
