PUT Toni Elias back on a MotoGP bike.

Watching him this season, and especially here at Aragon (without giving anything away, GREAT racecraft and speed yet again) it is extremely obvious that he needs to be in MotoGP. Last season his championship position surely didn't dictate the treatment he received. It was more about getting Simoncelli than it was about getting rid of Elias. Shame. Part victim of the craze over signing "hot" 250 riders and part victim of the fact that there are less than 20 bikes on the grid. But as far as talent goes, there is no reason he shouldn't have stuck around.

I sure hope somebody in MotoGP is smart enough to snag him for next season.

Tech3 fook Edwards off he's not done .... in a while.

They're keeping him around to make Crutchlow look good next year.

I don't agree with Elias coming back to MGP, he would be merely mediocre again. I think he has found his niche on a 600.

Elias+600,that works for sure but I`d look beyond next season and have him on a 1000cc`s in 2012 on a 2 year contract with stipulations as to where he finished.I`d say that was fair.

He's better off being a big (relatively) fish in a small pond. I think for once BM speaks the truth.

Capirossi has not done much in a longer while.....he should have a forced retirement.

yes i agree but not sure how many seats there are there the rumours still say there thinking hard on 1 bike only at zuk

nxt year with RDP on it

if theres two seats get a young gun in again

if Capirex goes pramac that's another wasted seat and team really there chit and need more ambition

having old trouts on sunday afternoon outings at the back of the field is a waste

Toni is clearly a cut above the rest in moto2 this year. I think being the main man has done him no end of good and he is riding better than he ever has done before. I think he deserves another shot at motogp, whats the point in staying where he is

Kinda like saying the ancient Arnold Palmer is the top guy on the miniature golf scene. It's all relative.

Disagree. Hes been on the podium every year he was in MotoGP. And that on a satellite bikes. His "mediocre" results have to do with the mediocre machines he's ridden. Listen to the KRJR thread and ask yourself, do you think his bikes would be allowed to exibit his talent?

look at the people calling for Colin Edwards to get out and he has been on the podium every year on a satellite bike...this year is not over but IMO he is not getting the support for his bike like Spies is so I think a podium is not in the cards this year. Unlike Elais, Edwards does not ..... about Yamaha. He might say they are down on power but he does it in a professional way....Elias would just start pointing fingers and whine about how unfair it is that other riders are getting contracts resigned.

I think Elias can ride, and maybe with a better bike his results would be different.....but he is a complainer and he would bad mouth Honda often. Didn't he learn from Biaggi getting exiled???

Elias reminds me of a really hot .... that every guy wants to get with....and once they finally got ou with her, they are pissed that she turns out to be a huge pain in the ... and can't wait for the date to end. Everything was perfect until she starting talking/bitching/complaining.

Sure he might get a podium in Mgp, even though I doubt it on his last few years especially the Duc. years, but now he is "king ....", a winner, top o the pops, el supremo, the boss, the ace, the spokesman, the statesman, .......... he Tony Elias, the standout Moto2 racer and he looks good, ......... and he gets threads now saying so

So you think a RACER is happy being top-o-the-second-heap? Not in my experience...

in his case..probably not since he knows he could win again now that he has had the the taste. Right now he is top dog in a race series.....if he moves up he will probably get lost in the shuffle again.

Mladin had no problem staying in AMA collecting titles, wins, and cash....as far as I could see.

Some riders want to try to win at the highest level and some riders want to find a level where they can keep winning.
