Great spectator track, numerous elevation changes, many, many passing zones, manicured to the nth,Baddest ... MC museum in the world on site, kick ... spectator trolly system, and best of all,its 250 miles from me.
I've watched a handful of races from Barber on TV but am not terribly familiar with the layout or the potential difficulties with changing the circuit. But if like you said, it can be done with little effort and investment, I think it would be a great way to get a race to the east coast. You're right about the elevation changes and the natural beauty of the place, it looks a very cool track on TV.
