Indeed, Brands is an awesome track, I loved when it was on the WSBK calendar. At least we still get some racing at Donington.

One less event than last year with 2 pending, and still the absurd month long stretches between race weekends. At least they do run 2 races per weekend , but 13 events stretching out 10 months is goofy. Im assuming these team technicians are year round employees that have to be paid, why not be looking for more events, instead of less. More races means more exposure and sponsors love more exposure. More races also means more money spent but also means more money made. I know of one that would draw a huge crowd, Barber.A huge number of fans east of the Mississippi River just cant make it out to Miller. It would draw many more fans than Miller and is a wonderful facility that is located in a major populist hub,not in a uninhabited desert. Its hard to believe WSBK and Barber cannot get together. For Gp,they were talking modifying the back stretch, i doubt they would have to do anything for WSBK. If they did, a simple 100 foot of pavement to straighten out the back straight is all that would be needed. It already has met FIM safety standards.

<span style="color:#FF0000pov i doubt it would be a bigger draw than miller. i'm sure they would do well but outdraw.....

<span style="color:#00FF00miller is not in the middle of an unihabited desert. it's 30min from downtown saltlake city... more populated than birmingham i suspect. the facilities are also top notch.

does barber have fixed garages?

Birmingham is actually more populated than SLC. Yes, Miller is a very nice facility, so is Barber and WAY prettier. I drew back on my Geography lessons and did a little research to confirm what i was thinking.I obviously have way to much time on my hands, but hey im in the boat business and its turning cold here in Tennessee. Kind of a double whammy.

These are Metropolitan area population numbers for the major cities within 800 miles of SLC and Birmingham .

Birmingham 1.2 mil
Nashville 1.5 mil
Louisville 1.2 mil
Indianapolis 1.7 mil
Chicago 8.1 mil
Cleavland 2.2 mil
Dallas 6.5 Mil
Detroit 4.4 mil
Houston 5.7 mil
Kansas City 2.0 mil
Miami 4.9 mil
New Orleans 1.3 mil
Pittsburg 2.4 mil
St Louis 2.8 mil
Washington DC 5.3 Mil
Atlanta 5.3 mil
Memphis 1.3 mil
----------------------------
57.5 mil

SLC 1.1 mil
Denver 2.3 mil
San Fran 7.0 mil
LA 17.7 mil
-------------------

27 mil

I chose the 800 mile figure because that was about the distance from SLC to its largest benefactor of Los Angeles. If you knock the number to 500 miles, you eliminate all but 3.4 million of the 27 million for SLC. Using the same 500 miles distance you end up with12.2 mil out of 57.5 million for Birmingham

My point is, Birmingham is closer to much more populated areas than SLC and i believe using simple %'s, they would draw a larger crowd than SLC

My only quip with Barber is the tight nature of the circuit. If they were to extend portions of it to allow for a bit more speed I'd be all for a Barber event.

Like i said earlier, easily done. Take the little kink out of back straight and your rocking. Great spectator track, numerous elevation changes, many, many passing zones, manicured to the nth,Baddest ... MC museum in the world on site, kick ... spectator trolly system, and best of all,its 250 miles from me.

Perhaps they chose Miller because its the most beautiful and GP worthy track only 2nd to Laguna Seca.

Im not advocating Miller losing its date, just add a second in the US on the eastern side.

Would it suprise any of you to know that Barber, which is considered a tight and technical track, is actually a faster track than Laguna Seca by 2 mph a lap. If GP can run Laguna, i see no reason why WSBK cant run Barber, even in its current configuration.

Please... no more races in the US. Next thing you know WSBK turns into a circus show like NasCrap and the atmosphere of racing will be ruined by rude drunken fans. Half the people that do go to these US races haven't even the slightest clue who the damn racers are anyways, they just go because it's the thing to do nowadays for squids so they can shoot the shiit with fellow sportbike riders and claim it in the bag as having been to a race before.

Besides, Somalia probably have more suitable circuits for racing than the US do.
