Pol's Moto2 Style on the M1

Now that Pol Espargo has Yamaha's permission to develop the M1 to his style of riding there have been several gains that were quite apparent on the track. The young man has steadily moved forward. It will be interesting to see what he brings to the track this week. Perhaps with the larger brake rotors we might see more of the rear wheel off the track during braking. He did have the rear tire sliding sideways with a wiggle at the last event.

I will be watching closely to see what new developments he has for us.

At assen?

No...

Pol espargaro is the best guy who does that even from MM93.He is still rookie at this category and he hasnt show his best. Also yamaha is not the best bike for this.
MM93 has developed a lot this style at his honda and reach the level of Pol. He and his team create a moto2 1000cc .

i might be wrong (more than likely), but i dont think he is "developing" the m1 as such. i believe its just setting the current machine up in such a way that it rides like a moto 2 bike.

You are right. Adapt would be a better term to use. But to clear things up about 2, 3, or 4 races ago during Free Practice or one of those in between programs one of the British presenters made the remark that the Yamaha boss (Herve maybe ? ) was allowing Pol to make setup changes to suit his riding style. They were showing a clip of Pol sliding the front and rear sideways while braking during this dialogue. To me it looked like a Moto2 machine entering a corner. That is what perked my attention.

Pol has already suffered a broken collarbone this year and we are only 7 races in. He is doing extremely well for a rookie.

Pol let his lack of wet race experience on the big bike bite him during the Assen race. Twice actually. The second time was because he was trying his hardest to recover the lost time. Valuable weekend for Pol. He will remember the lessons garnered for future use.

Gonna watch and see how well he bounces back for the ring.
