This could be a really interesting season. Toprak is at the front, but Bulega might be stronger over the season. Psycho Joe could be a contender? Rea and Bautista lying in wait for the actual points scoring?

Gerloff not doing himself any favors during this test. He was strong elsewhere, but this track seems to have he and his team foiled. VdM not having a great showing, either.

Season starts in a couple of days. Should be fun!

The new surface is proving to be very high in grip, and lower in tyre consumption, lap records have been broken.
Looks like being a great race.

Good point. The Phillip Island surface is so new and grippy, these times may not be indicative of what the riders do for the rest of the season. Some riders have been fast at all tests in all conditions. Other riders seem to gel better with lower grip scenarios.

Could be an interesting season. Happy that Bulega will be making an immediate impact.

If Toprak wins on the BMW I will have a hard time justifying him not having a factory duc in gp. Can't shake the feeling that we are losing out, big time.

Great call on the new surface, I wouldn't be surprised if especially the BMWs fall off a cliff after lap 5. PI on new asphalt is like Qatar and Albert Park. I'm hesitant to give any season predictions based on those races.

Was Toprak ever in a discussion taking a Ducati ride in MotoGP?

No that was Yamaha, they gave him a test ride on the GP bike, then told him "his style of riding would be no good on the GP". Another Yamaha failure.

Epic failure as the kids say. Gp is all about nailing the brakes. Need I say more?

It appears that Phillip Island will feature flag to flag races due to the repavement. Grip is high but Pirelli doesn't trust the tires or the teams. Unsure if that also affects the superpole race. I haven't looked that closely.

I guess these testing times are meaningless now. Everyone will pitstop during the race for fresh tires. Could be an interesting opener.

They only have to pit to change the rear tyre, front is optional, the V4R s with single sided swing arm will be in, and out before the others get the chain off.

So, with Toprak being fast for 10 laps until his tyres drop off, that's a huge help for him.
