<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Craig3089 @ Mar 4 2009, 05:53 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>yep, agreed. Plus he's one of the guys gauranteed to be up front most weeks, i don't like the guy tbh, but i'd rather him be up there making the championship less of a walk over and filling out the grid, than have a 15 rider grid. (i think thats right, if melandri decides to pull out as well)

No doubt Pedrobot is despised by many...one kind of character together with his director Mr. Puig.. But hero needs crooks and bad guys to make movie interesting.

Its official, Pedrosa is set to miss the Jerez test.

http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/73561

Dani Pedrosa is set to miss the final pre-season MotoGP test after doctors said that it will take up to four weeks before he regains full movement in his injured knee.

The Spaniard had an operation in Barcelona yesterday in which a titanium screw was inserted in his left wrist to mend a fracture, and a skin graft was taken from his thigh to repair a wound on his left knee.

The latter injury is likely to rule Pedrosa out of the Jerez test on 28-29 March as Dr Bartolome Ferreira, who carried out the procedure on the knee at the USP Institut Universitari Dexeus, said a four-week recovery period is needed.

"We have to wait for the injury to heal," said Dr Ferreira. "In three weeks the patient will be able to start making slight movements, to then start flexing in at least four weeks' time."

The news is a further blow to Pedrosa's pre-season preparations, which have been heavily disrupted by injury.

Last year he broke his wrist in a crash at the German Grand Prix, and then injured his knee at Phillip Island.

Continued pain from the surgery on the latter wound forced him to withdraw from last month's Sepang test after two of the three days, and he then sat out day one at Losail this week due to poor weather, before crashing halfway through the second session. Pedrosa's Repsol Honda landed on him after a high-side at Turn 10, causing the latest injuries.

Pedrosa is done. I don't see him ever being in with a title chance now, especially since he has become injury prone.

It does make you wonder at what point a rider just gives up mentally.especially one that most think is fragile between the ears to begin with. This rapid fire line of serious injuries has got to be playing on his mind. This is his 4th year and it appears he has no chance at a title and is slowly but surely falling behind riders every year. You may be right, from here on out,he may be just another rider.

I am starting to feel sorry for the little guy. He appears to be a victim of Puig and Honda's mismanagement.

With this kind of fracture and a bum knee I think the poor spainyard is seriously fckd. The only thing that will save him is if this turns is mind to cold steel and he makes a gallant late season run.

. Anybody have a video link of the accident?

I wonder what number Peders will sport next year? 2 & 3 didn't really pan out and 4, 5, & 7 are taken. So perhaps he may take the 6?

Pedrosa unfortunately has Puig that ruins him.

If it weren't for Puig I bet Pedrosa would be liked by many riders and fans...

I for one hope he gets better and if fit for the first race, because let's face it the dude can ride a bike and its always exciting to see him tear it up. The times he shoots off in the lead, of course if he does not crash... How about the rain race last year, before he wadded himself, he was on a tear.

As for Hopper, I don't put him in the same league as Pedrosa...no friggin way. With equal bikes, Pedrosa would smoke him...

Cannot wait for the season to begin!!!

No he wouldn't.

I just stumbled across this video tonight. Hadn't seen it in 2 years but it still boggles my mind and gets my blood boiling. The little sh waving Nicky off like "whatever".

I wouldn't feel the least bit disappointed if Dani just calls it quits before the season starts. MotoGP would be a little more dull with fewer front runners, but it'd be worth it. Besides, we have WSBK for close battles and exciting racing!!

But he used to be able to race, not only through an almost Lawsonesque application of cunning, guile and finesse but if it came down to it, he could fight as well. Now he seems to be becoming increasingly desperate. That once calculating cool race brain is deserting him. Lets face it, Rossi owns his head, and unlike Stoner, Max and Sete, (arguably Vale's most formidable rivals yet in the big class), Dani hasn't once prevailed in a fight with the Doctor. Rossi only has to show him a wheel, and he capitulates, which is a shame.

As much as i hate the little ........... i want to see him race. So he does not use the injurys as an excuse why he was and will never be a world champ. The truth is he has never been good enough, though he has come close it still did not get him a #1 plate. Nicky was the man in 06 Stoner in 07 Rossi in 08 now with all these injurys his chances are diminishing he is going to end up just like puig trying to live his dreams trough another kid in the future, and all that bull .... about 250 and 125 titles does not count. In football/soccer no one gives a .... who wins the under 20 or womans world cup its all about the big show the mens world cup as in moto gp the big show is the 800cc bike

Mate as much as i agree that he is a sour faced little prick, there is no doubt in my mind he is good enough to win a Motogp world championship. He won 3 world titles in 125 and 250cc, the hardest competition there is, you dont do that if your a fluke, you say Nicky was the man in 06 surely you dont think he is better then Pedrosa? id still rate Danni the third best rider in the world.

He seems to be mentally ...... at the moment, i remember how he had Stoners measure in the lower class,s, he would just have to come up next to him and Casey would drop it or let him go.
To me Stoner has always been better and its showing it now, but having said that if Danni can .... off Puke then he might change to where he can be.

Why at the start of 08 do you think Stoner said that Pedrosa will be a harder challenge then Rossi in 08 is cos he knows how could he is. Still though Danni is easy to dislike, even in 250 when he was at the top of his game, he would never congratulate Stoner when Stoner beat him, it was cos his bike ewas wrong or something, and never had a nice thing to say to anyone. Im surprised no other rider ever bashed him hey

that would have been something to see.
