i have to agree wish Jus!, it was nicky who was in the wrong place at the wrong time, dani was taking nicky on the inside...ok that was danis mistake but then nicky closed up on dani leavign him with no where to go so he slipped!....taking nicky off too, dani cant help where he falls!, stop blaming it on Dani all the time.

dani may well have been trying to go underneath nicky but the space wasn't there - school boy error

To whoever said blaming dani is pointless, I would say the majority of threads on here are pointless.

If your trying to say that us discussing/debating about it is pointless becuase its going to change anything. Your right it is not going to change a thing concerning the outcome of the season.

I'm assuming the point of this forum is for a bunch of people that are passionate about something to come together and share their feelings, beliefs, or thoughts about our beloved sport.

Judging by the amount of post on this subject it shows how many different opinions there are. Maybe someones post will make you see something in a different light or maybe you just come on here to vent. But no matter what, Our opinion/post won't change squat.

So keep on debating and sharing your opinions and don't listen to whoever said that. No matter what happens this will be a season to be remembered.

Oh yeah and dani wasn't taking nicky nowhere in that turn, he attempted a horrible pass at the wrong time in the race and failed miserably.

it was danis fault - his motives/reasons/actions may be argued but that's all - the mistake was his.

no doubt - if you think otherwise then you've been watching different footage to me.

What's wrong with discussing the issue? It's been intresting if you ask me, and after reading all the posts there's not much you wouldn't know about it. As long as people keep it within the boundaries of a civil debate and remember to respect people and their opinions, I think it's great.

Wow. You would think from the responses that this website is called: motogpforumapologists.com How many different ways can you attempt to make a rational apology for pedrosa's foolish crash on Hayden? Very few responses hold him accountable.

Oh I think it's his fault, I just don't think he committed a crime. Nor do I think he should be sued. Lawsuits for this kind of thing will KILL racing. When you put a leg over a race bike, you accept that riders are pushing the machines very hard and accidents will happen. If Dani is sued, where will it stop? Dani made a real dumb mistake, get over it.

I have to admit, though, a copple of Valentiniboppers posted that this was Nicky's fault (obsurd); however, I cannot tell if they were being sarcastic or not.
 
Hate to bring this up again, but I just think it's funny:

Jerez, 2005: Rossi deliberatly bashes Gibernau off the track, manages to stay on, wins the race. Everybody laughs at Sete (including Rossi) and calls him a ......

Estoril, 2006: Pedrosa accidentally bashes Nicky (It was Pedrosa's fault, but it was also an accident) off the track, goes down himself, breaks a finger, apologises to Nicky and everyone gives him hell.

Coming up with another hypothetical situation here, what if it was Gibernau narrowly leading the championship after Rossi's bad luck and, let's say, for example, a popular rider (And teammate) like Capriex knocks him off the track? Somehow I don't think the level of sympathy towards Sete, or anger towards Capirossi in that situation would be quite the same.
Don't get me wrong, I think this is a terrible incident for Hayden and Pedrosa, and I even feel a bit sorry for Honda, but I think the relative popularity of the riders concerned is playing a big part in the general reactions. (I mean, who would sue a guy as good as Capirossi?)
