He's right. Mav is sitting 150 points behind Marquez, and a race down on Rossi. They hadn't won for 25 races...Mav on the Suzuki (the only guy to win on it) rarely beat any Yamaha. Suzukis are routinely beating Yamahas now.
Again they are both correct. All that, and Maverick himself said the same.
Difference between Rossi and Maverick: when Rossi has a bad result, he says “We need to improve”. When Maverick has a bad result, he says “Yamaha should give me a better bike”.

An admirable attitude from Rossi at age 39 no doubt, but developing a bike around a 39 year old rider no matter how great when he was 25 and how admirable his attitude in regard to improvement is pretty much inherently problematic imo.
The main knock on Vinales as a rider for me is him not being able to ride around whatever ails the bike/him in the early part of races. There have been numerous races where he has dropped way back and then had serious pace at the end of races; I am sure this is due to a problem with the bike/the bike's interaction with the tires but if you want to compete with MM you have to be able to ride around problems better than Vinales has shown himself able to do, although perhaps PI was a sign that he has progressed in this regard whether or not the bike is better.
No one here has any definitive proof that Yamaha is building the bike around Rossi. This is just hearsay and repeating it over and over again doesn’t make it fact.
Fact: Rossi complained about certain things about the M1 since early 2017, complaints that eventually Vinales and Zarco started to echo.
Fact:The bike has some inherent problems that affect all riders.
Fact: If Yamaha was building a bike to make Rossi happy, he would be running rings around the rest.
Yamaha picked a spec based on Vinales’ input after his success in the pre-2017 tests. And it set them back by a couple of years.
Once again, show me clear evidence of Yamaha building a bike clearly favoring Rossi. Not opinions, facts and evidence.
Easily verifiable from various on-record statements is that Rossi, Vinales and to an extent, Zarco have the same complaints about the bike, complaints that Rossi raised first.
Facts don’t bode well for the conspiracy theories.
Do not turn the argument to suit you, I was objecting to the urban legend that Yamaha keeps building a bike around Rossi. Refute that if you can, or don’t.
