So Cals problems stem from the Michelins then?
Numbers will surprise in some cases I suspect
Rossi, Dov and Hector have the smaller number of the ful ltimers
Lowes, Marky Marc and Bautista have the most.
Also, Rossi and Dovi's numbers are outstanding.
MM crashed more in 2017 than VR did in the past six seasons.
How many times did Dovi crash in 2016 that were not of his own doing? 3?
Good point.
AI took him out and DP took him out but I can't remember the third?

You made the same mistake -- looking at Rossi and Dovi but overlooking Hector who also crashed only 6 times, which when you look at his record shows a remarkable consistency.
Yes Rossi and Dovi were good, but Hector was as good in the (not) crash department
I see your argument, but look at 2014 and 2015 for a counter-argument. JL and VR barely crashed at all...factory Yamaha crashed less in 2014 and 2015 than factory Yamaha did in 2017 alone...Gonna throw it out there anyway even though we do not want riders to crash but ...............
There were issues this season with the 2017 Yamaha as opposed to the 2016.
Could the issues have been identified sooner (or become obvious sooner) if the two factory riders were prepared to push (that catch 22) sufficiently to cause a crash as when you look at Zarco's number (12), it to totals more than the entire 2017 Yamaha team total (11).
Absolutely see that to push and crash could result in injury (and agree), but the same question could be put back than did they truly find the limit or sweet spot as the evidence may indicate a failure to push to the limit as they did not exceed it much (ie. to find the limit, sometimes one needs to exceed it).
IMO but the Yamaha stats are of interest for mine.
Since he's Rossi returned to Yamaha, Hector has crashed over 50% more frequently than Rossi. I wouldn't say he's as good.
Also, keep in mind that VR and Dovi are challenging for much better positions while crashing so little.

Hector's rate of crash is quite small (IMO) and in 2017 he hit the floor 6 times which places him with Dovi and Rossi.
In the history of the table it is 46 v 41 (Rossi with 41) and Hector being quite consistent for a rider not having been on top equipment which often sees one push harder and subsequently, over the limit.
To be honest, Hector's numbers actually surprised me in a positive way
