Presumibly Stoner will run with 27 ?
I not sure if Rossi will stick with 46 as hes always done, theres been to No1s recently and maybe he'll bow to the No1 mentallity ?
Anyone know of anything ?

Possibly have a number 1 graphic inside his 46.. i cant see him changing his ways too much

Numbers wont change until next season. It's the way it's always been.
Stoner will return to 27, Vale will no doubt stick with 46. He makes too much money off that number to switch.

Hayden ran his number 1 at PI last year after relinquishing the title.

They`re not obliged to change until the end of season.
 
As if he's gonna change before the end of the season? I need to take more drugs to read some of these posts.
 
Yea i think they are required to stick with their plates, but Stoners 27 is reserved just like Nickys 69 was.

Its really proven a bad move taking the number 1 plate, i hope the champ after Rossi thinks better of it

When Stoner won last year his number didn't change until this year. Rossi might have actually two numbers in his trademark 46 which would be a number 1 and possibly an 8 somewhere to.
 
the #1 is stoners until the end of the season then i would expect him to go back to 27 or take the #2 or 3.

theres no chance rossi will race without his 46.

Rossi hasn't won the championship yet, he has only clinched. After Valencia the season results will be certified and added to the record books. Then and forever more Rossi will be the champ of 2008. He can run #1 in 2009 if he wants.

Stoner is still the reigning world champion. He gets to keep the #1 until after Valencia.

Is it not simple?

Casey is No.1 until the end of the season.
Next year, he has the choice of 2 or 3 (whichever it may be), but no doubt will revert to 27.
Valentino will be No.46

Now then, it's my bedtime. What a dilemna! Shall I have hot chocolate, horlicks, or ovaltine?

Didn't hurt Doohan - No.1 just ended up being his racing number

It was Vale that started it in motogp (not displaying the '1'), I think Bayliss started it in WSBK(?)

It was said last year that casey wanted to stay with 27 for this year but ducati wanted him to go with 1. I guess now he has made his point he can go back to winning the world championship next year as 27.
